The International School of Choueifat: Manama first opened its doors in 2006 to students from Pre-KG to Grade 8. Today, the school has an enrollment of approximately 1,700 students in KG 1 to Grade 12. ISC-Manama is a member of the global SABIS® Network, established in 1886 with its first school opening. The International School of Choueifat – Amman first opened its doors in September 1997 to both Jordanians and International students K-12. Today some 1500 students are enrolled in ISC-Amman. Over the past three years, our students have won many Queen Rania Outstanding UK Learner Awards. These have included top students in A-Level subjects, the top student in IGCSE subjects, top in Jordan for English, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Studies, Classical Arabic (top 10 in the world) as well as outstanding performance awards from the AP® College Board and AP® Scholar Awards. Nestled in the gentle hills in outlying Amman, ISC-Amman is a purpose-built school on a spacious campus of over 90,000 square meters. The state-of-the-art facilities include science and computer laboratories, a computerized testing and learning hall (ITL®), a theater, and extensive sports facilities such as a semi-Olympic-sized pool, indoor basketball/tennis courts, and an Olympic soccer field. The story of the International School of Choueifat is a story of dedication, vision, and ambition. It is the story of a succession of individuals and their devotion to institutions. Only a century ago most girls, in what is now modern Lebanon, were not able to read and write, and educating them was frowned upon by society in general. In the early 1880s, Tanios Saad, a dynamic teacher, met Louisa Procter, an outspoken Irish lady. When they met, she was working with the village women in the Choueifat area teaching them how to look after their children. Tanios persuaded Ms. Procter that what women needed was a basic education. Today, ISC-Choueifat has an enrollment of more than 1600 students in KG1 to Grade 12. ISC-Choueifat is a member of the global SABIS® Network.
