Shih Chien University's purpose of establishing the College of Management is to train practical management talents who "have both innovative engagements and global insights" for all trades and professions. This college brings the characteristics of the international and metropolitan college of management into full play, uses the advantage of exceptional geographic condition (it is located at the international metropolis Taipei, it is a high-quality university that is near Taipei Neihu Technology Park and Nankang Software Park, and it is located at Dazhi District that is generally acknowledged as the safest district with the ideal surroundings), cooperates with open policy, works with Industry-Government-Academia to plan courses, and promotes cooperative teaching, to create a Shangri-la that can master social context the best and have diverse learning. Shih Chien University's Architecture Department was officially established in 2002. The department currently offers the degree of Bachelor of Architecture, Master of architecture. The departmenprogram's educational diagram is to foster and promote the fundamentals of the architectural praxis founded on the timeless spirit of creative craftsmanship while actively incorporating the latest developments and research done in the field. The education provided in technical and vocational schools is different from that provided by research-orientated universities. It aims to mold students into skilled personnel, equipping them with the professional competence required for future careers. UCH enlists the help of local industry to enhance educational programs and strengthen the quality of academic research. Also, the institution pursues further cordial links with overseas schools and multinational businesses for international development. Besides five colleges and seventeen departments, UCH established graduate schools in 2001. This initiative is expected to rise significantly to the level of Chien Hsin University's academic research. To further enhance the efficiency of faculty teaching and research, our institution provides a range of sophisticated equipment, research offices, and extra pay for research specialists. Having fostered a spirit of academic freedom, UCH also gives attention to student solidarity. Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology(UCH), previously Ching Yun University and Chien Hsin Industrial College, was established in 1966. In 2003, the Ministry of Education in Taiwan approved the institution's upgrade from its original status as a college to its current standing as a university. Presently, the University contains seventeen departments and programs: Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Applied Geomatics, Materials Engineering and Manufacturing, Industrial Management, Business Administration, Marketing and Distribution, Informational Management, Property Management, Hospitality Management, International Business, Finance Banking, and Digital Multimedia Design. Additionally, the University has four research centers: the Logistics Management Center, the Digital Earth and Disaster Reduction Research Center, the Green Energy Center, and the Euro-Asian Center. UCH has a long-term focus on three research areas: automation, telecommunications, and Internet technology. Placing a premium on knowledge management and academic economics, UCH aims to become the E-generation technology leader. The last few years saw the renovations and expansion of UCH's campus infrastructure due to a two-billion-NT dollar investment. Currently, a search for the second campus is underway as part of the University's expansion plan. Meanwhile, dozens of professorship positions are being filled as the University continues to enrich teaching and research quality. Based on the achievements obtained from the Teaching and Learning Excellence Project's execution, a national competitive project supported by the Government, UCH is positioned to become a first-rate university of science and technology. Language specialized programs at Chien Hsien provide a wide variety of classes for students who wish to study international languages and those interested in exploring different cultures. Classes in Chinese, English, Russian, Spanish, German, and Japanese are offered in reading, speaking, writing, and listening. They are taught at various levels, from beginning to advanced, by well-qualified native teachers to enhance students' language abilities and cultural understanding. Chien Hsien offers professional-technical certificate and degree programs that prepare students for specific jobs or allow them to advance existing skills.
