North Beckton Primary School has recently undertaken significant changes which include the new leadership team of Paul Harris, Advisory Executive Headteacher, and Alison Helm, Acting Head of School. We are a multi-cultural inclusive school, which promotes a safe, caring, challenging, and creative environment. We aim to develop independent, responsible pupils who have respect and environmental awareness and who are equipped with the skills needed to contribute positively to their community and be productive global citizens. We have high standards and expectations for ourselves and our pupils who are supported in partnership with parents/carers. The Staff and Governors are fully committed to providing the best education and opportunities for all pupils and we hope that all parents/carers and the children will fully support the aims and objectives of the school to ensure that time at school is happy, successful, and fulfilling. We are proud that we all belong to North Beckton Primary School. At North Beckton, we support pupils learning in a variety of ways. Firstly, we have a cross-curricular approach that allows them to explore a topic in great depth and from a variety of angles. Secondly, we use the arts to underpin much of what the pupils learn as they are given opportunities to immerse themselves in a topic through the arts. The curriculum is extended and enhanced through themed weeks, after-school clubs and activities, educational and residential visits, focused days, and visits from outside agencies. A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect. At North Beckton Primary School we are committed to promoting ‘ Positive Behaviour’ and therefore supporting pupils’ to make their own choices with their behavior and giving them opportunities to reflect and rectify any behavior choices that go against the shared rules. North Beckton Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children, and staff at our school. North Beckton Primary School has a legal responsibility to inform Children’s Social Care of any child protection concern to children who attend the school. In the majority of cases, a child protection concern will be discussed initially with the parent/carer and, if necessary, a referral will be made to Children’s Social Care. View full school
