Abu Dhabi Center for Autism was founded in 2000 through noble efforts of H.E. Sheikha Shamsa Bint Hamdan and implementation and follow-up by the Red Crescent Authority and Abu Dhabi Educational Zone. It was then handed over to the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care in 2006, falling under its direct control and care.
