  1. Our mission is to educate and train future leaders in the future-proof fields of engineering and technology, management, and aviation at Vaughn College. Vaughn classes are led by an experienced and passionate faculty that does not just teach subjects, but lives those subjects, often holding important and influential positions in their respective fields of expertise. At Vaughn, we cannot wait for you to get out in the world and succeed, and our stats prove it: 98% of Vaughn graduates are employed or continue their education within one year. It all happens in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art campus adjacent to LaGuardia Airport that's an easy commute from all points in the New York Metro area. At Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, we are committed to providing our 1,500 students with an unparalleled educational experience. We continue to enhance our learning environment, degree programs, and resources to add even more value to a Vaughn education, helping to put each student on the path to individual success. Ninety-eight percent of our graduates are employed or continue their educations within one year of graduation, and those who go on to pursue a graduate degree do so at institutions such as Columbia, Stony Brook, and Texas A&M. Vaughn is also home to one of the only master's degrees in airport management in the Northeast, a program uniquely targeted to a growing industry that employs thousands. Launched just a few years ago, this program is one of many ways we are investing in our college's future–and in our students. We have recently added three new bachelor's degrees in aeronautical sciences, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering. All of our engineering technology programs are accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET. Our mechatronic engineering program is one of only four ABET-accredited mechatronic programs in the country. We maintain a $1-million, state-of-the-art flight simulator laboratory, an air traffic control laboratory. We have invested another $1-million in new engineering, chemistry, and physics laboratory to support the new bachelor of science mechanical engineering program. A two-story library and teaching and learning center were added as part of a $45-million expansion of our academic and training facilities. A new 3D prototyping innovation center has just been opened for students and faculty to create reliable parts from computer-aided design software. Vaughn is also on the leading-edge of innovative educational programming. From our learning communities that pair diverse classes in an intersecting curriculum to our Federal Aviation Administration programs and certificates, or our international programs, Vaughn College provides its students with the resources they need to succeed here–and around the globe. At Vaughn, you will arrive with a vision…and leave ready to take the reins in the fields of engineering and technology management and aviation. That is because our skilled admissions counselors can help you create a detailed road map to your goals. At both the undergraduate and graduate levels, we offer innovative academic programming that incorporates the latest technologies and meets the evolving challenges of the fields you are interested in. Plus, we help you to obtain the licenses and certificates you will need while still a student. Whatever you decide to pursue, you will find outstanding staff and faculty who are always ready to help you get there. Do you know where you want to go in life? Are you focused? Then turn your interests into a relevant and exciting career in engineering and technology, management, or aviation at Vaughn College. Explore innovative fields such as mechatronics – a field that uniquely combines the elements of mechanical, electronic, and computer engineering to design "smart" technology. Or, put your organizational genius to work by earning a master's degree in airport management. Vaughn is one of the few colleges to offer both. Want to fly? Spread your wings in our new million-dollar flight simulator lab that features two Redbirds, the aeronautical industry's most technologically advanced simulators. Best of all, you will be prepared to hit the ground running because earning appropriate licenses and certificates are all part of the curriculum. And you will accomplish this before you graduate. There is so much to do on-campus and off-campus at Vaughn that you will think about your college experience in a whole new way. Whether you live in our residence hall or commute, you will always find something to do on campus. Grab a bite to eat with friends in the Aviation Cafe. Keep yourself looking right at our fitness center. Watch our Warriors intercollegiate teams compete. You can also join one of our many student clubs or professional societies. Vaughn is in the New York City borough of Queens–one of the country's most diverse counties. Minutes from campus, our students can take advantage of "Little India" in Jackson Heights, the great restaurants of Astoria, or the Chinese markets of Flushing. If that is not enough, the fine museums, nightlife, and Manhattan cultural events are just a short bus and subway ride away. View full university
