Quality higher education is the most effective cure for all the damages in society. It will provide true-professionals to the community (engineers, doctors, politicians, lawyers, professors, and teachers) and produce sensible citizens. Abbottabad is the Boston of Pakistan, and Abbottabad University is leading the academics of the district. Keeping in view its vital role, the university has been going through many innovative reforms to improve education quality. In the Fall 2016 semester, the university has conducted the first-ever academic audit of all the departments and all university courses. Later on, it celebrated the first week of the Spring 2017 semester as "Orientation Week for Faculty members." The university has also initiated a campaign to improve the quality of instructions and has declared 2017 as the Year of Academics (YOA 2017). For research, innovation, and commercialization, the university has planned and approved four interdisciplinary Research Centers, i.e., Center for Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Center for Biomedical and Health Sciences, Center for Humanities and social sciences, and Center for Pharmaceutical Technologies. These centers will provide a conducive-research environment and will offer MPhil and Ph.D. degrees in various disciplines. With the establishment of these centers and the commitment of our faculty, students, and staff Abbottabad University will very soon join the leading research universities of the country and world. For the community's awareness and mobilization, the university has initiated a "Green and Clean Abbottabad Campaign" and has also organized conferences, workshops, and symposia on different topics of importance. The university is open to innovative ideas, support, and giving that may help accomplish its vision and mission of quality higher education. Abbottabad (abt-ah-baad) is the headquarters and most significant town of the Hazara division in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Abbottabad was founded as a British garrison town by Major James Abbott in the 1850s. Its scenic beauty, tall pines, shady chinars, and surrounding hills leave a lasting impression on visitors. Situated on the famous Karakorum Highway, Abbottabad is known as a city of colleges of its quality education.
