Massanutten Military Academy has a long tradition of helping students reach their full potential. Our holistic approach to education not only helps your student to excel academically but to grow as well-rounded human beings. We focus on character development, leadership, and service to help your student develop to their fullest potential.

Massanutten Military Academy’s mission is to prepare cadets for their success by delivering structure and a superior educational experience.

Our unique approach involves an environment built on collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation. Together, we value cultural diversity and international mindedness as we prepare students to become tomorrow’s global citizens.

Massanutten Military Academy is an International Baccalaureate Career Program school (IBCP) and also offers a full STEM Curriculum, Honors Courses, and AP Courses, as well as Dual Enrollment Courses offered through Lord Fairfax Community College. The average class size at MMA is 12 Cadets. Massanutten Military Academy has Guaranteed Admissions Agreements with:

    • Elmhurst College
    • Emory & Henry College
    • Georgia Military College
    • Longwood University
    • Norwich University
    • Susquehanna University
    • Sweet Briar College

If a graduate of Massanutten meets the requirements set forth by these institutions, their admission is guaranteed and, in the case of Susquehanna University, a significant tuition reduction is earned.

Massanutten is an international school with cadets from all over the globe. We are proud to boast we have cadets from over 18 different states and 10 different countries. Our diversity and global mindedness make our Corps of Cadets something special.

One of our most outstanding features is our attention to the entire cadet experience with a focus on academics, cadet life, and athletics.

Our cadets enjoy a wide array of academics courses including the core classes, AP, dual-enrollment, fine arts, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). We are also an IB (International Baccalaureate) World school.

Cadet life involves all activities outside of academics and athletics. The focus of cadet life is to teach cadets the skills needed to live and work with others.

All cadets participate in sports. We firmly believe athletics allows our cadets to become leaders and teammates. They build camaraderie and learn how to work together.

We also care deeply about our cadets having the opportunity to learn and grow spiritually. We have a weekly cadet non-denominational chapel service every Sunday at 7:00 pm. All cadets are invited to attend the service. There is also an option for cadets to choose a local church they would like to attend and MMA provides transportation to and from to ensure our cadets are receiving the same worship opportunities they would if they were at home.

At MMA, we embrace experiential learning for all cadets. Faculty members strive to provide hands-on opportunities, activities, and field trips to create an academic environment where collaboration and critical thinking are a part of cadets’ daily lives.

If your child is not already enrolled at MMA, please visit us in person. You will love what you see! MMA is accredited by VAIS (Virginia Association of Independent Schools) and Advance-Ed.
