Founded on faith by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, our mission is to prepare confident young women dedicated to academic excellence, Christian service, and social justice. Through a faith-based curriculum, we promote a thorough knowledge of the Catholic faith, developing prepared intellectually and enriched students spiritually. At IWHS, we encourage each student to utilize the tools that we provide her to create her own story. Our modular schedule allows students to customize their academic journey to balance college-preparatory coursework, dual enrollment courses at UIW, athletics, extracurricular activities, and community service. Young women who graduate from IWHS are highly prepared for success in college while remaining committed to their faith and sensitive to others' needs.

The High School also holds memberships in the National Catholic Educational Association and the Texas Catholic Conference.
It is felt within the Shamrock Community's hearts and minds that we have a great responsibility to provide outstanding academic programs and support that are necessary to prepare our young ladies for the best educational and career paths they choose upon graduation from Incarnate Word High School. As a community, we are committed to a unique approach, using the modular system's vehicle to ensure our students become responsible and empowered young women. Collectively, we focus on academic excellence, a rigorous and competitive curriculum aligned with state and national standards, college readiness preparation, and a framework that prepares students intellectually, spiritually, socially, and mentally.
