Through the Eudaimonia Programme, we seek to ensure that all boys are culturally literate so that they can participate fluently in society.

The Cedars’ curriculum is broad and balanced so that boys may develop their talents and discover new interests. Sport, music, drama, and art all have a high profile alongside a rigorous academic core that seeks to develop pupils’ capacity for independent thought.
Sport plays an important role at The Cedars and we have the advantage of spacious new sports grounds adjacent to the school. The school participates in rugby, football, and cricket as the main team sports with a full fixtures list in each. Music and drama are also popular and pupils are involved in the school productions, musical and choral performances, and instrumental tuition which is provided by staff and peripatetic teachers. There is also an ever-widening range of extracurricular clubs and societies to suit all tastes and interests.
The Cedars School stresses the primary role that parents play in their children’s spiritual development. Pupils, regardless of their particular religious faith, are encouraged to foster their relationship with God and develop their spiritual life with a genuine spirit of freedom and discernment. The Religious Education program allows pupils to acquire a deep understanding of the Catholic faith and its practice. Intrinsic to this is the greatest respect for freedom of conscience.
Based on the ethos of the school and respect for the family, we recognize that marriage is the best environment for bringing up children and both parents are responsible for the education of their children and should have a shared interest in school life. We aim to encourage discussion and engagement with both parents appreciating the importance of their role as prime educators of their children and also through existing parents who can actively seek to encourage friendship and mutual support among school families.
