St Joseph's Catholic Infant School is a Voluntary Aided School within the Diocese of Brentwood. Our thriving school community includes Nursery classes and links to our Junior School, Tollgate Teaching Alliance, and the Aquinas Learning Trust. Our grounds provide great opportunities for outdoor learning, as well as play, sport, and family events. This year we have seen a three million pound refurbishment take place which further demonstrates our commitment to make continuous improvement and invest in the education of our children.
Our vision is for every child to make the best possible progress. We challenge children to achieve their best through an ethos of positive praise, high expectations, and providing the right level of support. Our committed staff team has developed an exciting and engaging curriculum that is based on the interests of our children. In 2017 we were ranked in the top 8% of schools nationally for phonics. Our end of Key Stage results are consistently significantly above the national average and indeed above other local schools.
Every child is of equal importance and unique. Pupils and members of our community are valued for what they are rather than what they can do and are given every opportunity for educational development to the highest level possible. We are all equal and every child is provided with the foundation to become a life-long learner growing in confidence and self-esteem as well as developing a positive attitude to learning.
In partnership with our parents and community, we share, inspire and motivate our children so they can be the best they can. We believe passionately in education and strive to provide a rich and varied curriculum to enrich our children’s lives. We aim to provide the foundation so that every child becomes a lifelong learner. The experiences gained with us are designed to have a lasting value.
