Oasis Academy South Bank opened in September 2013 – a new secondary school serving the local Waterloo community. It offers a small, safe, learning environment for local children, with Outstanding (Ofsted 2015) educational opportunities where every student can reach their full potential.
Oasis Academy South Bank is part of the wider Oasis Hub which delivers an extensive range of children’s, youth, and family services in the local community. Oasis is already responsible for Oasis Church Waterloo, Oasis Academy Johanna (formerly Johanna Primary School) as well as Oasis College of Higher Education which offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses to more than 250 students.
All young people, regardless of starting point, will ‘Climb the STAIRS to Greatness’ at Oasis Academy South Bank. Through love, nurture, and a rigorous academic focus, Oasis Academy South Bank students will ultimately be successfully and happily employed in a career with prospects and become model citizens.
We hope for Oasis Academy South Bank to form a bridge between the successful multi-national South Bank employers and the local Waterloo community. We hope our alumni will be desired and sought after by future employees of the leading organizations and companies on our doorsteps. We hope that our students’ skill set, values, and academic outcomes will put them ahead of the game and ready to compete with any other youngster for the top jobs of their choice. Oasis Academy South Bank believes all young people can become successfully employed in a career with prospects. Oasis Academy South Bank believes all aspects of a child’s development are crucial to their success, therefore our curriculum reflects this. We have an innovative and creative enrichment curriculum that ensures the development of the whole child. This includes a diverse creative curriculum for all including Music, Art, Drama, and Media and Technology. Additionally, students will have 4 hours of sport per week with leading coaches and teachers (eg. Rugby, Football, Athletics, Netball, Hockey, Gymnastics, and Dance). Students receive extensive career education throughout Key Stages 3 and 4.
