We are a brand new Academy, based at the heart of Tottenham, providing excellent quality educational provision for young people in the local area. We opened in September 2014 to Reception and Year 7 students, and are now building on our excellent foundations, in our permanent accommodation in Ashley Road, Tottenham Hale.
We believe that we offer a unique opportunity for young people to experience a cohesive and progressive education, building on the strong foundations we build in our Primary phase, to reach exceptional career and further education pathways at the end of our Sixth Form age. We make sure that not a moment is missed to help your child progress and reach their full potential.
Our Academy is based on an ethos of excellence, encouraging students to fulfill our high expectations through a dedicated and committed approach. We combine the hallmarks of traditional Secondary education with a progressive curriculum in our brand new facilities.
We believe that children thrive when they are consistently happy and safe at Primary School. Each child will be taught in the way that suits them best and we will step in quickly if a change is needed. For some children, this might involve one-to-one support if they are finding something difficult and for others, it could mean stretching them more to keep them interested.
Our Academy is relaxed and comfortable but pupils will know that good behavior is expected of them. They will be frequently praised and rewarded for trying their best and for being kind, hard-working, and well-behaved.
We want the school to feel friendly and welcoming and will always make sure that every pupil has at least one friend. Our children will be taught to respect each other. We believe that when a school gives its students the confidence to believe they are capable of excellence, this is exactly what they go on to achieve.
The ethos of our Secondary phase is grounded in the traditions of hard work, good manners, smart uniform, and academic achievement. We combine these with the best of modern teaching and technology. Class sizes are kept as small as possible and students will find that the atmosphere is disciplined and rigorous but also positive.
Learning does not begin and end at the classroom door. Students regularly participate in practical projects, activity days, and masterclasses in all manner of subjects. In addition to what they learn in the classroom, these activities will help to bring learning alive.
Our Academy is a specialist Maths and Enterprise Academy. This means that while offering a broad and balanced curriculum with a full range of subjects, we have a clear emphasis on “enterprise” across the curriculum. This will involve actively developing the skills of self-presentation, initiative-taking, creative problem solving, decision making, team working and interpersonal skills in a variety of contexts, so building self-esteem and confidence.
As Students, you are taught how to learn and expected to share in the responsibility for their learning. You are encouraged to think creatively and expected to complete schoolwork and homework to high standards.

Harris Academy Tottenham is committed to providing an appropriate and high-quality education for all children. We believe that all children, including those identified as having Special Educational Needs as well as every other student, have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum. This curriculum should be accessible to them, and they will be fully included in all aspects of Academy life. We recognize that pupils learn at different rates and that there are many factors affecting achievement, including ability, emotional state, age, and maturity. We are particularly aware of the needs of our pupils, for whom maturity is a crucial factor in terms of readiness to learn. We believe that many pupils, at some time in their Academic career, may experience difficulties that affect their learning, and we recognize that these may be long or short term. At the Academy, we aim to identify these needs as they arise and provide teaching and learning contexts that enable every child to achieve his or her full potential.
