At Christ the King we provide a Catholic curriculum, which is broad and balanced, recognizing that every pupil is unique and is created in the image of God.
Our curriculum is designed to enable every pupil to discern their vocation and to be well-equipped to follow it as active citizens in service to the world. We also provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities and strong pastoral support. Our teaching staff has developed a whole school thematic approach that provides children with stimulating lessons based around themes that engage and motivate them, whilst ensuring progress. We are committed to providing children with a rich range of practical experiences in a safe, stimulating, and enabling environment. We are dedicated to developing our curriculum, as research advances and our understanding of our learners evolves.

In the Early Years Foundation Stage, we aim to create a place where children can explore, learn, be active, meet friends, be safe and be adventurous. Research shows that children learn best through structured play, with skilled adults to talk to, think with and learn from.
Here, at Christ the King School, we value each child as an individual and provide a balance of child-initiated and adult-led activities both indoors and outdoors as we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

We are working with reading Write Inc to provide an engaging, energetic phonics program for all the children in our school who need it, to support their reading and writing.

Our curriculum is designed to enable every pupil to discern their vocation and to be well-equipped to follow it as active citizens in service to the world. Catholic Religious Education is the “core of the core curriculum” (Pope St John Paul II) and the foundation of the entire educational process. We also provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities and strong pastoral support. We incorporate democratic principles, value the rule of law, support individual liberty and foster a community in which different faiths and beliefs are respected.”
