The school aims to create a broad, balanced, and relevant education for all pupils, in a safe and caring atmosphere. Burry Port is a small seaside town, some five miles to the west of Llanelli. The area is developing economically, with recent developments in the field of tourism and leisure. ICT is regarded as a valuable tool that promotes a learning partnership that includes pupils, staff, governors, parents, carers, and the whole community. Our school website aims to promote this vision as part of learning within and beyond the school in the 21st century.
Every pupil and member of staff in the school has a Hwb account. Hwb provides a secure learning platform for pupils to use a range of ICT tools and to communicate safely. Hwb includes Microsoft Office 365 tools, including email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. We use Hwb to work on the curriculum in school and pupils can also access their learning at home. Hwb is funded by Welsh Government and is available free to all schools in Wales.
