All Saints Catholic Primary School is a school that aspires to high standards and is also a place where the unique qualities of each person are nurtured and developed. In partnership with the Anfield Children’s Centre, we aim to care for and educate children from birth to 11 years old by offering a wide curriculum delivered in good accommodation in the heart of the Anfield community.
As a Catholic school, we work closely with the Parish of All Saints, Anfield, and, whilst predominantly serving the families from the parish community of All Saints, the school is an outward-looking school, keen to play a central role in serving the whole of the local community.
All Saints takes great pride in being a center for Resourced Provision, taking up to 20 children from the city with severe and complex learning difficulties. This reflects the inclusive nature of the school and the emphasis placed on giving all children the best chance during their earliest years. The school, the Resourced Provision unit, and the Anfield Children’s Centre all work closely together to make sure every child does matter.
Recent Ofsted reports in 2012 and 2015 were very positive and confirmed the school’s evaluation of its strengths and areas for further improvement we were delighted that in 2015 the inspection team graded the school ‘outstanding’ overall. Ours is a school that is committed to striving for the right balance of education for our children in a rapidly changing modern world. We aim:
- To provide creative and varied opportunities and experiences for children to grow spiritually, socially, and academically and, in doing so, experience a personal relationship with God.

- To provide equal opportunities and fair treatment for all in the school community, so that each person is treated with dignity and respect.
- To work together as an honest, forgiving community where everyone belongs and is encouraged to work and learn with each other.
This year the school has appointed a qualified Forest School leader/teacher, to plan and deliver Forest School sessions to all children attending the school. The children will be taken off-site to a local forest or woodland, where they will have the opportunity to investigate and explore nature and the natural environment. Each session has a clear, structured, planned routine with most activities being child-led with adult support if needed and takes place in all types of weather. The children attending Forest School will be allowed to climb trees, build with natural materials, use real tools and cook on an open fire. Managing risk is central to the Forest School approach and although adults ensure that the location is as safe as reasonably possible, children are encouraged to take appropriate risks as part of the routine. Through these experiences, children will acquire an impressive range of knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes which will benefit all aspects of their lives.
Forest School is a type of outdoor learning in which children regularly visit local forests and woodlands. During Forest School sessions there is more emphasis on the investigation of nature and the children have the opportunity to observe the natural environment through all the seasons and in all weathers. Through activities including, camp-fire cooking, den building, whittling, natural art, nature walks, bug hunts, and sensory art, the children have the opportunity to explore and learn from nature, the natural environment, the seasons, and environmental changes.
At All Saints that our children should receive a curriculum that provides a range of opportunities, a clear pathway for skill development, and an understanding of the world around them in preparation for challenges ahead. This curriculum should itself be challenging, stimulating, and provide enjoyment for our pupils. It should also allow flexibility so pupils can follow their interests in some depth when the opportunity arises.
The school has two accompanying central beliefs about its curriculum. Firstly, that opportunities should be given to children to have first-hand experiences wherever possible our children are out of school a lot. Secondly, visiting partners and specialists make a great contribution to the curriculum, often when they lead to festivals of learning or pupil performances.
We have also designed a themed curriculum which is added to the more discrete teaching of English, Maths, RE, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, PE, and Music. It takes in aspects of History, Geography, ICT, Design, Art, and Language.
