The transformative learning experiences at Camelot International School are designed to help our students grow both in and out of the classroom. Founded in 2014, Camelot International School is located in Itabashi-Ku. With more than 40 students and 10 dedicated and passionate teachers, we are here to help our students make an impact on the world.
At Camelot International School we respect our students and understand that each of them has individual wants and needs. We believe that learning can only be fostered from a feeling of mutual respect, guidance, and direction, and do our very best to maintain those values in everything we do. Our unique approach supplies our students with the proper support system that will help lead them down the path to success.
Since September 2017, we have been opening a secondary section to our friendly and affordable International School. Continuing the Camelot principles of providing a safe and welcoming learning environment, the secondary section places emphasis on each student's needs and goals. Our curriculum focuses on the essential skills for study in an international framework, with English as the language of tuition in all subjects. From kindergarten to graduation, our students will follow a program that will offer choice and reward individual strength. We are interested in helping young people to follow the paths that they choose for themselves. Our only requirements are functional English ability and a willingness to respect the learning environment. Come and see us by appointment.
In primary school, English and mathematics are studied in single-grade classes. All other subjects are studied in thematic units of work in combined grades. Students will learn mainly along with the Cambridge Primary Program, but will also have IPC available as part of their studies. At the end of grade 5, students will take the Cambridge Checkpoint to assess their level of understanding of what they have learned. We also assess the students' English reading level and math level through anothlfare of students before everything else. Students always come first. We believe that with the right guidance and direction, as well as a focus on their individual needs, our students can all succeed. We aim to empower our students to question conventional thinking and to pursue their interests with dedication and compassion. We believe that true education empowers students to make real and lasting changes.
We are unsatisfied with the current state of the world. Our students and teachers are dedicated to imagining and creating new possibilities for a better future - a future in which all people have access to quality education. The options for internationally-minded parents in Japan are currently limited to prohibitively expensive international schools, or 'International Programs' at Japanese schools.
At Camelot, we aim to provide a third option. Camelot students and teachers are a community shaped by the pursuit of truth, respect, and compassion while providing outstanding preparation for higher learning and for life, underpinned to provide this opportunity to everyone regardless of their social or economic status.

For gifted students, we allow them to challenge and study higher grade levels. In the IPC, students will cover two units of work, covering 12 units in a rotating program over two years. In all cases, the students will be assessed according to recognized age-appropriate attainment targets.
Our middle school homeroom class is held with multiple grades. However, subjects are studied in their grade level working towards the Cambridge Lower Secondary qualification.
At the end of grade 8, students will take the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint to assess their level of understanding of what they have learned in middle school. Along with checking their understanding, it has the purpose of having students themselves know about what they fulfill and what they need to improve on. This will allow the students to prepare and strengthen their weaknesses before moving up to high school. The student experience at Camelot International School includes a diverse range of cultures, curricula, and extracurricular activities. We offer our students options to choose from, making them directly involved in designing their educational path which meets the high standards of our core curriculum. There’s so much for students to do and experience here!
