Wesley School began in 1971 with Marcia Kirby coming to teach the four children of Dale and Marian Neff. Classes were held in their home. They called it the OMS Guided Learning Center. The following year a house was rented on Jl. Baluran and the other ex-pat children were invited to join. The enrollment increased and diversified with the admission of a business family in 1975. The first non-English speaking children were accepted in 1980.
Wesley International School’s vision is articulated best through the “Expected School-wide Learning Results” (also known as the ESLR’s). We are raising Christians, developing communicators, educating thinkers, nurturing lifetime learners, and shaping citizens of the world. Providing a Christ-centered education to impact the world.”
Our mission at Wesley International School is to provide students with a Christ-centered education: one that inspires them to love God and live a Godly life, that instills a biblical worldview and produces academic excellence — an education that will prepare our students to impact and bless their world with knowledge, insight, action, and love.
Wesley International School (WIS), as a Christian organization, subscribes to the following Statement of Faith:
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to earth to die for our sins. (Jn. 5:18 Mk. 10:45 1 Cor. 15:3)
- We believe in the necessity of being born again by the Spirit of God by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ. (Jn. 3:1-21)
- We believe that growth in the Christian life depends upon fellowship with God through the Bible, prayer, and service. (Acts 2:42-47)
- We believe that the Bible is the only Word of God. It is our authoritative guide for accurately understanding God, his world, and our practical guide in life’s various situations. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
- e. We believe in the urgency of the Great Commission as described in scripture. (Mt.28:18-20 Jn. 4:35 Lk. 14:23 2 Cor. 5:11)
- We believe that God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. (Gen. 1, Jn. 1:1-3, Col. 1:16-17).
