Since 1987, The Victor Hugo School is an international school in Paris, hosting students from Nursery to Grade 9 in the heart of the 15th district. A dedicated site for the High School (Grades 10 to 12) is located at 176 rue de Grenelle in the 7th district in Paris. With a small-class policy, The Victor Hugo School welcomes over 600 students from 70 different nationalities and educational backgrounds. With more than 30 years of experience in education, The Victor Hugo School is a well-known international institution in Paris, unique because of its tailored English-speaking curriculum, enhanced by compulsory French lessons from the age of three.
Our expertise allows children who have not yet mastered English or French to join the school at any time during the year. With a majority of children from expatriate families, The Victor Hugo School does its utmost to ensure an easy transition for students from international backgrounds as they integrate into our school. From Grade 1, each school year begins with a week-long orientation trip to a different French region, where students not only have the opportunity to discover French culture and traditions but also to build close bonds with their classmates and teachers.
To promote the integration of our new students, we also offer, on a case-by-case basis, Intensive English lessons and learning support. In addition to English and French, students whose native language is Dutch, Japanese, or Korean can also benefit from mother-tongue language classes (extracurricular). The Victor Hugo School is an accredited IB World School adhering to the highest academic standards of the IBO. The school offers the IB Diploma Programme and boasts a 100% pass rate, and is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years program. The International Primary Curriculum is provided in primary school, ensuring an international outlook.
The Victor Hugo School uses technology, with Interactive Whiteboards in the classroom, to enhance teaching and learning. We also offer a one-to-one iPad program in the Middle School and a vast array of digital resources throughout the school. Students are active members of the community through the IB module of Community, Activity, and Service (CAS) further broadening their education. The Victor Hugo School is proud of its bespoke IB Diploma Programme center.
