From the school's inception, we have sought to offer a Christian education that acknowledges God as the creator of all things and that His word is the best foundation for every person. Our school is based on an emphasis on character, developing the God-given talents of each child, declaring God's greatness, His plan for this world, and His plan for each of our lives.
This philosophy's outworking has meant that our Year 12 students leave with our school-based statement of attainment. Through the performance of our graduates, our school has established an excellent reputation in the community, especially with employers and tertiary providers, in particular with the University of Southern Queensland here in Toowoomba.
Over the last five years, over 97% of the Year 12 students have gone on to employment or further studies. This reflects the school's preparation of students for their life after school. We emphasize high academic performances according to the students' ability and the critical development of character, and a Biblical understanding of human nature and how to relate to others.
Our focus is centered around the greatest commandment – to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love your neighbor. It is apparent in the Bible that every individual has been made Imago Dei (in the image of God), which is based on our dignity and worth. It also gives us equality before Him and before each other.
Our goal as educators is to establish the meaning of being Imago Dei in our students' hearts and minds as they seek to develop an understanding of the purpose and meaning of life. We also want them to develop an outlook on morality and destiny that is founded on Biblical teaching. We also desire that students would develop here at TCC a sense of their calling and dedicate themselves in their hearts and minds to their God-given mission in life.
The school is committed to maintaining its clear Christian focus. Implicit in this is our desire to treat each student as a creation of God, unique in their strengths and weaknesses. As much as possible, the child, not the class, is the focus of our attention. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we aim to provide an environment where each student not only learns but feels secure and accepted, developing the giftings God has given them and who understand the world from a biblical worldview and framework.
