Job Description
Amazon’s Global Supplier Electronic integration team is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM III) to lead EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and API (Application Programming Interface) integrations with Amazon’s external suppliers across Mexico and Brazil. The Supplier Electronic integration team powers the electronic integration flywheel behind the Amazon Retail Supply Chain, connecting suppliers to Amazon through automated data exchange.
In this role you will own several supplier integration projects in parallel and see each one through from first conversation to successful go-live. You will sit alongside the MX business teams and act as the bridge between two worlds: you translate business requirements and process needs into the right technical implementation, and you translate technical realities back into terms the business and the supplier understand. You will guide supplier SMEs and their IT teams through every aspect of our integration process, remove technical and process blockers, and drive excellence in data usage for the benefit of both the supplier and Amazon.
This is a role built for independence and collaboration at the same time. After an initial ramp-up period with our globally distributed team, you will be expected to be as self-sufficient as possible — making both the technical judgment calls and the strategic/tactical decisions needed to keep integrations moving. Beyond running projects, you will be on the pulse of the Mexico and Brazil business, building the strategy for how we make more vendor integrations happen: what makes it attractive for suppliers to integrate, which repetitive roadblocks to eliminate, and how EDI/API automation directly advances each country’s business goals when applied to a specific vendor’s situation.
Because this program is still early-stage in-region, you will get to pioneer with a business-development mindset — help the Mexico and Brazil business teams shaping the pitch to suppliers, codifying the recipe for a “perfect integration,” and continuously scaling the number of integrations that can be run in parallel. You will contribute to our documentation and AI-assisted tooling, feed ideas into our org’s improvement pipeline and feature roadmap, and be the voice of the MX/BR supplier back to our central product and tech teams.
The ideal candidate has a genuine technical background — enough to ramp up quickly on our systems, ask the right technical questions, judge trade-offs, and even build quick tooling for themselves — combined with the program-management discipline to run multiple projects cleanly, the business acumen to know why an integration matters to the country, and the communication skills to operate across languages and cultures. You are fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the lifecycle of a complex, cross-functional integration program spanning the Mexico and Brazil geographies. Manage multiple supplier EDI/API integrations in parallel — from concept and business-requirements gathering through technical implementation to successful go-live — with tactical execution and regional strategy ownership.
- Be the bridge between business and technology. Translate country and vendor business requirements into the right technical implementation, and translate technical realities back into business terms for suppliers and internal stakeholders. Deliver best-in-class, pro-active integration consultancy grounded in deep knowledge of our EDI/API solutions and the supplier's process and system blockers.
- Build and leverage strong relationships with external suppliers and 3rd party providers (including their SMEs, IT teams, and external service providers) and internal stakeholders to attract and grow adoption of our integration solutions.
- Own the region’s integration strategy. Stay on the pulse of the MX and BR business, understand how EDI/API automation advances each country’s goals, and build the strategy to drive more vendor integrations — making it more attractive for suppliers to integrate, evaluating and measuring the benefits for both Amazon and suppliers.
- Remove repetitive roadblocks and force-multiply. Identify recurring blockers across integrations, streamline or eliminate them, and codify the recipe for the “perfect integration and automation change management” so results scale beyond what one project-at-a-time allows.
- Operate with technical judgment and independence. After ramp-up, make sound technical and strategic/tactical decisions with limited guidance; understand our systems’ architecture, limitations, and the reasons behind design choices well enough to drive the right solution and mitigate the consequences of poor technology decisions.
- Contribute to documentation, AI solutions, and the product pipeline. Build and improve our integration documentation and AI-assisted tooling, and feed data-driven ideas from what you learn in-region into our org’s improvement pipeline and feature expansions.
- Be the voice of the MX/BR supplier. Add value with post-project analysis and case studies, influence our central product and tech teams on EDI/API tooling, and represent supplier needs internally.
- Deliver with rigor. Focus on goals with flexible prioritization and persistence; anticipate and overcome barriers; provide reliable reporting of your project activities, risks, mitigations, and outcomes; and make decisions that produce positive long-term impact.
- Communicate clearly to a wide range of audiences, from supplier IT teams to internal Directors — through status reports, narratives, and business/technical documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience with APIs and technical integrations
- Experience in Business English skills, both verbal and written
- Engineering/technical background (e.g., CS/CE/EE degree or equivalent hands-on experience) sufficient to ramp up quickly, understand system architectures, APIs, and data flows, and drive constructive technical discussions with engineers.
- Experience working with external service providers as part of integration delivery.
- Experience managing multiple external-facing integration or delivery projects in parallel, including working with external suppliers, customers, or third-party service providers.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with external partners/customers and their technical teams, and to translate between business requirements and technical implementation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools in academic or professional settings
- Professional proficiency in Portuguese.
- Experience in the Mexico and/or Brazil supplier landscape, or working across LatAm markets.
- Direct experience integrating external suppliers/vendors onto EDI/API platforms, ideally in a retail or supply-chain context.
- Business-development or program-scaling mindset — a track record of using data to define and achieve results, building pitch/marketing material, and growing adoption of a technical program.
- Data fluency: comfortable collecting and using data (SQL, logs, APIs, BI artifacts) to define and measure results and to drive data-driven decisions.
- Experience contributing to documentation, mechanisms, and product/feature improvements based on field learnings.
