About the opportunity

As part of our Financial Services Consulting practice, you will help banks modernise the platforms and processes that power their products and customer journeys. This is a client-facing role for an experienced banking transformation professional who combines strong functional knowledge of banking products with the ability to shape and deliver technology-enabled change.

You will work across business and technology teams on core banking transformation, platform modernisation and complex implementation programmes. The role is suited to candidates from banking, consulting or banking technology organisations who have led functional workstreams across areas such as deposits, lending, trade finance, transaction banking or treasury. This is not a finance-function, accounting or financial reporting role.

Your key responsibilities:

• Lead functional workstreams for core banking transformation, platform modernisation, implementation or migration programmes.
• Advise client stakeholders on target-state capabilities, operating models, product and process design, and transformation roadmaps.
• Translate business and product requirements into clear functional requirements, solution designs, user journeys and delivery priorities for technology teams.
• Bring practical banking domain knowledge across deposits and lending, with additional exposure to trade finance, transaction banking and/or treasury solutions.
• Facilitate workshops with business, operations, product, architecture, engineering and vendor teams to resolve requirements and design decisions.
• Provide functional leadership across the delivery lifecycle, including discovery, design, configuration, testing, migration, implementation and business readiness.
• Identify dependencies, risks and control considerations across products, channels, core platforms and downstream systems.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams while maintaining delivery quality, commercial discipline and strong stakeholder engagement.
• Support practice development through proposals, client conversations, market insights and the development of reusable banking transformation offerings.

Skills & attributes for success:

• Deep understanding of how banks design, originate, service and operate banking products, rather than finance-function or accounting processes.
• Strong functional technology orientation with the ability to bridge banking business needs and technology delivery.
• Experience in core banking transformation, platform implementation, system replacement, migration or large-scale banking change.
• Domain experience in deposits and/or lending is highly desirable; exposure to trade finance, transaction banking or treasury will be advantageous.
• Ability to engage credibly with business and technology stakeholders and lead complex decision-making.
• Experience managing functional teams, workplans, deliverables, risks and stakeholder communications.
• Commercial awareness and experience contributing to proposals, solution shaping or business development in a consulting environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, workshop facilitation and presentation skills.

To qualify for the role, you should have:

• Min. 10 or more years of relevant experience in banking transformation, core banking, banking technology or consulting, with scope appropriate for a Senior Manager appointment.
• Experience gained in a bank, consulting firm, core banking platform provider or banking technology organisation.
• A strong track record leading client-facing or internal transformation initiatives from functional design through implementation.
• A bachelor’s degree in information systems, technology, engineering, business, banking or a related discipline. Relevant postgraduate or professional qualifications are advantageous.
• Familiarity with leading core banking or banking product platforms is advantageous, but practical transformation leadership and banking product knowledge are more important than experience with any single vendor.
