The opportunity: 

Join EY Technology Consulting in a senior, customer-facing role leading quality engineering across a major insurance transformation. You will shape and evolve testing strategy across functional and automation streams, coordinate complex delivery teams and engage with senior client stakeholders. 

You will oversee the end-to-end testing lifecycle across Guidewire and connected digital platforms, ensuring effective test governance, defect management and delivery quality. 

Based in Melbourne or Sydney, this hybrid role requires approximately 10 days in the office each month. As an EY consultant, you will support the account while building experience transferable across future consulting engagements. 

Your Key Responsabilities 

• Define and evolve test strategies and plans that support agile delivery, functional testing and automation-first principles. 

• Lead functional, regression, integration and automation testing across multiple systems and environments. 

• Provide governance and execution oversight across larger engagements, coordinating delivery teams, architects, developers and business stakeholders. 

• Manage defect triage and resolution and maintain clear visibility of quality, risks and progress for internal and external stakeholders. 

• Create and maintain test plans, obtain required approvals and manage testing changes. 

• Coordinate end-to-end testing across Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter and connected digital platforms. 

• Design and evolve automation frameworks, reusable components and libraries. 

• Conduct proof-of-concepts and contribute to testing-tool evaluation and selection. 

• Work with business stakeholders to coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing. 

• Lead and mentor team members and promote strong functional and automation testing practices. 

• Engage directly with senior client stakeholders to understand business needs, communicate progress and resolve issues. 

Skills and attributes for success 

• Extensive Guidewire implementation capability across the broader platform, including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter and digital-platform integration. 

• Demonstrated experience leading testing within complex insurance transformation environments. 

• Strong internal and external stakeholder management, including engagement with customers, development teams, architects and senior client leaders. 

• Demonstrated capability leading functional and automation testing across complex delivery environments. 

• Expertise designing and implementing test strategies and organising testing resources across large engagements. 

• Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies. 

• Ability to interpret functional specifications and translate requirements into effective test cases. 

• Strong capability across regression testing, defect management, integration testing and User Acceptance Testing. 

• Hands-on capability in automation framework architecture, development and enhancement. 

• Ability to lead geographically distributed teams and contribute hands-on when required.

• Understanding of Motor Claims insurance. 

• Experience establishing quality-assurance strategies and automation approaches. 

• Ability to articulate the value and return on investment of automation. 

• Experience conducting testing proof-of-concepts and tool-selection activities. 

• Experience mentoring team members across automation and functional testing.
