For more than 40 years, Providence Day School (PDS) has fostered in each student a passion for learning, a strong sense of social responsibility, and a commitment to personal integrity. As a school, we exist to inspire.

Providence Day School has assembled one of the nation's finest pre-collegiate faculties, with over 60% holding advanced degrees in their field. The school recently launched it is One to World' initiative that seeks to connect its students to the global community and empower them to become active participants in creating an optimal teaching and learning environment. A campus-wide digital citizenship initiative also builds in students an understanding of how they can successfully navigate and operate within an ever-connected world.

Providence Day School is a global school focused on developing successful and responsible global citizens. We introduce our Lower School students to Chinese, Spanish, and French. Our Global Studies Diploma Program, the first of its kind in the country, allows students in grades 9-12 to choose a curriculum and set of experiences that lead to a second Global Studies diploma. Our teachers are also allowed to earn a Global Educators Certificate.

We also understand the need for play within our rigorous curriculum, socialization, rest, creativity, and experiential learning. We truly value family and work ceaselessly to build meaningful, life-long connections with our parents, alumni, grandparents, alumni parents, and other supporters. The school enjoys a strong culture of philanthropy and vibrant partnerships within the broader Charlotte region. We are a community for life.

Providence Day School is a Round Square member school. Round Square is a worldwide network of schools in 40 countries across five continents. Its schools share a holistic approach to learning built around six pillars: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service.

The Southern Association of Independent Schools accredits Providence Day School. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, North Carolina Association of Independent Schools, and Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.

Our students live in an ever-shrinking world, connected and driven by digital technologies, which help expand the amount of knowledge at an exponential rate. We offer a forward-thinking program that produces graduates who can collaborate and lead in diverse workspaces, master multiple digital technology tools, and virtually access and evaluate massive amounts of information online.

While the activities may vary, PDS teachers manage to keep all this excitement going daily.
