Stoneleigh-Burnham School results from the merger of five girls' schools, dating back to 1869 with the Prospect Hill School of Greenfield, Massachusetts. Our mission then was "to prepare girls for the rigors of a college education." Today, 150 years later, our focus remains the same.
With its history of fostering the development of strong female identities, its small and inclusive multi-cultural environment, and its dedication to understanding how girls best learn and grow, Stoneleigh-Burnham School guides young women to become active agents of their destiny.

Attracting girls from around the Pioneer Valley and from more than a dozen countries worldwide, Stoneleigh-Burnham has developed an inclusive and multi-cultural community that supports thoughtful discourse and sharing among cultures. In this, the SBS students develop both their voices and their deep respect for others' voices. The culture truly supports the individual and the collective.
At Stoneleigh-Burnham, our students graduate confident in their ability to contribute meaningfully to the world. We are rightfully proud of them and the generations of strong alumnae.
