St. Ignatius Loyola is alive and well in our community as we strive to form women and men for others in service to the Church and the world. We seek to be attentive to the invitation of God and ever more creative and generous in the ways that we respond. Our constant prayer is that our efforts might always be to the more incredible honor and glory of God.
As Loyola Academy enters its second century, we are uniquely positioned and resourced to serve as the leading Jesuit college preparatory community in the United States. We are committed to forming women and men for others in service to the Church and the world. Our way of proceeding is to live a holy boldness as we seek to do all things for the greater glory of God. The context of our Church and our world demands that we reimagine our mission for our second century as we seek to serve as a living hub and portal for the Ignatian vision and mission.
As we reflect on our first century of excellence, we celebrate the extraordinary success of Loyola Academy. More than 26,000 Ramblers have excelled in academics, athletics, and co-curricular activities in these years — all lived in a community rooted in our Catholic mission. Our alumni have made creative contributions to commerce, the arts, education, and nearly every other realm of human endeavor.
Faithful to our Jesuit calling, our recognition of this success moves us to gratitude to God for all that has been. With St. Ignatius Loyola, we are impelled to ask, "What more can we do? What is God calling us to do today?" To respond to Ignatius's call to do more for the greater glory of God, we have set forth the following mission, vision, and priorities.
Our mission to form women and men for meaningful lives of leadership and service in imitation of Jesus Christ through a college preparatory education in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. Our vision is to be the leading Jesuit college preparatory faith and education center in the nation. To be a diverse and committed community responding to our God-given call to become women and men for others who are religious, intellectually competent, physically fit, loving, open to growth, and committed to doing justice.
Loyola Academy offers numerous academic support programs, including the O'Shaughnessy, Magis, and peer tutoring programs. We provide additional help to all Loyola students in the areas of math, chemistry, and writing. We support students who need limited accommodations to be successful in a college preparatory high school. Our goal is to promote an active learning environment that ensures all Loyola students' success beyond the classroom.
Loyola Academy has a rich tradition of excellence. Annually, we welcome over 500 students per grade from over 75 different zip codes to our diverse community rooted in Jesuit education tradition. Each student and family has its own story, hopes, and possibilities. Through four years, Ramblers experience a journey of faith, scholarship, service, and friendship. It is a journey that lasts a lifetime!
