Lancaster Bible College is a private Bible college with a thriving student population composed of undergraduate, accelerated undergraduate and graduate learners.
The central location is in Lancaster, PA, about 40 miles east of Harrisburg and 70 miles west of Philadelphia. The campus is a short drive from a thriving downtown Lancaster community that features excellent cultural, artistic, and dining experiences.
In 2013, LBC expanded beyond Lancaster by acquiring the academic programs of Capital Bible Seminary and Washington Bible College. Guided by the leadership of current college president, Dr. Peter Teague, EdD, this acquisition builds toward the college's vision to be a premier, evangelical, the globally accessible, technologically advanced institution of higher education.

Broaden your horizons and deepen your relationship with God through our study abroad options at LBC. These travel opportunities allow students to visit new places, experience other cultures, and broaden their education. We offer students two ways to study abroad: short-term tours or a semester abroad program.
Earn a bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or certificate in less time than you think at Lancaster Bible College. If starting or going back to college is the next step for you, LBC is here to help! We know taking classes on a regular schedule - or even taking classes on campus - may not fit into your life as a busy, working adult. That is why we designed our accelerated undergraduate degrees program! Through this program, you will receive the same accredited, quality, Christ-centered education offered through traditional undergraduate campus programs - but in a shorter amount of time.
Offered annually, our TraveLearn Tours and enriches student learning through experiences that make the scriptures come to life. Typically, the tours are offered during summer sessions and are focused on the countries where history is unfolded in the pages of Scripture. Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, and Greece are our primary destinations.
Students travel with experienced and knowledgeable professors and trace the footsteps of Jesus, the apostles, and scores of other Bible characters. Biblical customs and culture are brought to life as ancient sites are explored, explained, and even excavated in light of their significance in the grand narrative of Scripture.
Lancaster Bible College has entered into agreements with several institutions overseas, allowing students to earn credits at recognized institutions in a cross-cultural setting. For each of these programs, students remain enrolled at LBC and thus are eligible for financial aid, but not for LBC's in-house scholarships. Students should work closely with their advisors and the registrar's office to ensure that credits earned will fit into their programs. Henry J. Heydt founded Lancaster Bible College in September 1933. Eight-day students and 14 evening students were enrolled in the original class, which met in the Convention Hall at West Orange and Pine Streets in Lancaster. William J. Randolph '50 succeeded Heydt as president. From 1954-1961, President Randolph moved the school toward accreditation, and the size of the campus grew, initiated by a gift of land in 1957 from Mr. and Mrs. J. Martin Esbenshade.
In 1961, the school's academic dean, Stuart E. Lease, was elected president. During his 17-year presidency, the student body grew to more than 400 students, and the campus expanded to 36 acres. Finally, in 1973, the school earned provisional approval to grant a Bachelor of Science in Bible, and the school officially became Lancaster Bible College (LBC).
