Following the graduation requirements of the world’s international schools, KFS ensures that each student receives a well-rounded education that includes a unique combination of academic standards and achievement in a safe and inviting school culture. Korea Foreign School enables students to achieve academic excellence while being encouraged to be global leaders who promote global peace through equity, innovation, diversity, integrity, community, care for the environment, and self-respect. Korea Foreign School is based on the belief that young people from many countries who are studying together in a supportive environment will be leaders in world peace. They will rise to prominent positions where they will be committed to serving the global community to improve the well-being of its people with their knowledge of the environment, diversity, and wise decision-making. They will be confident, strong, enterprising, and entrepreneurial. Korea Foreign School is acutely aware that we now live in a global society and this school has been founded to cater to students of all backgrounds, races, and religions. In this way children learn to belong to the family of the world, to love and respect each other’s differences and celebrate them. The school is non-profit making and we aim to make an international education available to as many students as possible. Every child will have her/his ethnicity, race, religion and cultural beliefs recognized by the school whether it is in the classroom, at an assembly, or on the sports field. The wide-ranging curricular and extra-curricular activities mean they have the opportunity to follow their desired path to appropriate secondary institutions. The purpose of the school is to help students aim high in all aspects of learning while retaining their curiosity and creativity. They will learn to have empathy with others and reflect on their values and the values of others. This will enable them to lead in businesses or universities worldwide while retaining their curiosity and creativity. This will enable them to lead and succeed in the career of their choice. Korea Foreign School achieved joint accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Accredited schools are subject to regular monitoring through routine progress reports and visits, a process that keeps standards high and ensures that schools continue to develop and improve. Accreditations from these two important organizations mark KFS as one of the highly recognized international schools in the world. Our students learn international-mindedness by taking a world language class and learning from a global perspective. IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) focus on developing caring and open-minded students who take action to make the world a more peaceful place. We provide our students with an international education that addresses the social, physical, emotional, cultural, and academic needs of its students. Korea Foreign School provides students many opportunities to learn and grow through the highly accredited Common Core State Standards (CCSS), the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and the National Standards for Social Studies, which all call for higher-level thinking in our core content areas. As part of our requirements students are expected to complete requirements for graduation from middle school, while demonstrating their ability to be successful global citizens. Students also benefit from a variety of learning opportunities in addition to the required curriculum including a chance to travel while competing in international Olympiads, extracurricular activities, and an outstanding technological experience. With a low student-to-teacher ratio and an internationally-minded school program, students will find success and be challenged, while studying at KFS. As part of our vision, we hope to prepare students to be life-long learners and good citizens in a culture of shared responsibility. At Korea Foreign School, we are committed to creating a safe learning environment, nurturing, and respectful to foster and develop students' knowledge, skills, and abilities.
