Applying to Grand Valley is the first step in becoming a Laker! We accept applications year-round and begin admitting new students on a first-come, first-served basis for the following fall semester in August. Grand Valley State University does NOT require you to have health insurance, but it is strongly encouraged. We think it is essential that students have comprehensive health coverage to stay healthy and achieve your educational goals. Please be aware that the University's liability insurance program does not cover injury or sickness sustained by a student even if these activities result from class or group participation activities such as intramural sports, theater, etc.

GVSU's Graduate Certificates allow students to enhance their skills and gain credentials in a short amount of time.GVSU offers numerous combined Bachelor/Master degree programs, and a Student-Initiated Combined Degree program, where students can earn a bachelor's and master's degree together to maximize their education.
