The past year has taught many a lesson to our community. The way forward is intertwined with the genuineness and sincerity of our combined efforts at guiding each student to reach their potential. This will allow them to thrive by being themselves and willingly giving their best as they prepare for a future that will reward those who intrinsically do the right thing for the right reason, at the right time.
Al-Bayan Bilingual School was created with a vision to prepare students for the world of today and the challenges of tomorrow. The school offers a bilingual program in which the Arabic and English languages carry equal emphasis and status, the goal of which is to bridge global progress with the traditional values of Arab culture. The school aims to foster an environment for students to develop the intellectual qualities, ethical values, and positive attitudes required for effective participation and leadership in the overall development of Kuwait and the rapidly changing world.
Al-Bayan Bilingual School (BBS) was established in 1977 by the visionary Fawzia Hamad Al-Sultan Al-Essa with the support of fourteen women who believed in her dream. As a Kuwaiti who was educated in several countries abroad, she valued the fundamental ingredients of quality education but at the same time believed in the importance of an Arab heritage with strong cultural values.
BBS earned its international accreditation in 1989 by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges in the United States and the Council of International Schools in the United Kingdom. BBS graduated its first class in 1987 and since then the school is known as a center of excellence in the community. It has changed the lives of the families who have been part of Fawzia’s influential educational dream. Thanks to Fawzia’s clear vision, Al-Bayan Bilingual School continues to enrich and evolve as a pioneer in bilingual education in Kuwait.
Al-Bayan Bilingual School (BBS) achieved accreditation in 1989 and was the first school in the region to have been awarded accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Council of International Schools (CIS), as well as the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education. Their awards acknowledge that BBS continues to meet its requirements for accreditation, as defined by its esteemed institutions.
BBS is also a member of the Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA), The College Board, and the National Honors Society (NHS), which give recognition to students with high academic records, good character, leadership skills, and commitment to their community.
