At St Martin’s preparatory school, we believe in allowing every pupil to discover, grow and achieve their maximum potential in a safe, stimulating, and holistic environment. All pupils learn in different ways and our caring, enthusiastic staff provide the necessary skills for each student to develop into critical, independent thinkers.
At St. Martin’s pre-preparatory we pride ourselves on encouraging critical thinking and creativity from a young age. Each year becomes slightly more structured to prepare the children for Grade 1 while maintaining a fun element. We are a happy, nurturing, family-orientated pre-school where we encourage parents to be part of our family. We have an open-door policy and we communicate regularly with our parents ensuring that their minds are at ease.
Our program allows children to develop their creativity, enhance their communication skills and acquire social interaction abilities through play. It is at this developmental stage that children learn about themselves. The perceptual skills that form the foundation for further learning are developed in our carefully structured program, which includes baking, climbing, running, construction, creating, singing, dancing, and communicating. Literacy and Numeracy Skills are developed with a Mathematics curriculum from Singapore, the Letterland, and THRASS (phonics programs) as the basis of the curriculum. The pupils visit the library and music rooms weekly, developing their interests in both reading and the art of music.
Our colorful classrooms are alive with the chatter of happy, busy children. We believe that we develop children who are physically, emotionally, spiritually, and cognitively ready to face the challenges that lie ahead.
A visit to the Pre-Preparatory facility will allow prospective parents to see the qualitative difference between child-care and childminding, and provide a clear understanding of the importance of formal education in this age group.
The Junior Primary phase aspires to cater to the needs of all children by encouraging them to develop confidence and become well-balanced individuals. At this stage, learning styles are developed so that the pupils are allowed the opportunity to explore their full potential. A growth mindset approach is encouraged with an emphasis on the learning process. Teaching the various Thinking Maps allows the pupils to explore and expand their knowledge.
Singapore Maths and the THRASS language program form the basis of our curriculum. Each child is further extended by weekly visits to the music room, computer center, library, and physical education class. Educational outings are arranged to support classroom themes and topics covered. An integrated sports program exposes our Grade ones to the different sporting codes.
Parents are kept informed of their child’s progress through regular meetings and reports. The school is well supported by therapists who offer occupational therapy, speech therapy, and play therapy. Class teachers also offer pupil support lessons to those children who require additional assistance.
We in the senior primary Grades 4 to 7 phase of St Martin’s believe in allowing every pupil to discover, grow and achieve their maximum potential in a safe, stimulating, and holistic environment. All pupils learn in different ways and our caring, enthusiastic staff provide the necessary skills for each student to develop into critical, independent thinkers.
Our nurturing school environment encourages the academic and spiritual needs of each student and fosters learning and personal growth through the curriculum. We as a Christian school also encourage tolerance, understanding, and respect of other faiths.
Our classes are small, and our dedicated teachers are committed to educational excellence. They attend regular seminars and make every effort to acknowledge, recognize and develop the talents, strengths, and potential of every pupil. We encourage our pupils to adhere to our motto “Non-Recuso Laborem” and to strive for their best in all they do.
St Martin's uses its facilities to ensure that the compulsory co-curricular program offers a suitable variety of sporting and cultural activities to the students in the summer and winter seasons.
St Martin's School provides the service of a well-equipped aftercare center. The center aims to provide a safe environment where the pupils are allowed to learn and play in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. The center has a pre-primary room and a homework room, as well as a kitchen to prepare lunches. It has its entrance, secure parking, and playground facilities.
