It is not only the school’s easy access to public transport but also its exclusive location that makes SIS Zürich-Wollishofen unique. Separated from Lake Zürich by an extensive public park, the two school buildings are combined in a charming garden complex. The bilingual kindergarten is housed in the historical building, whereas the bilingual primary school, library, and cafeteria can be found in the modern school building. It is a truly ideal setting for learning, growing up, stories and history.
Overlooking the Landiwiese and Lake Zurich, we are currently teaching around 220 students in 14 grade-based classes from kindergarten to grade 6.
Our school is influenced by the various Swiss families, as well as international ones, who have made their home or place of work in the Lake Zürich area. Everyday school life is enriched by this diversity on all levels however, we also place great value on establishing ties with the local community.
Teaching is based on our competency-based bilingual curricula, which also makes it possible for students to transfer from and into the public school system at any time. While we aim to provide a performance-oriented education, we also place great importance on equipping our students with strong social skills and values.
We offer our students a stimulating learning environment that is characterized by cooperativeness and kindness thus, providing them with all of the necessary conditions to develop into motivated and socially competent individuals.

The SIS Swiss International School Zürich-Wollishofen offers bilingual education from kindergarten to grade 6 of primary school. On all levels, classes are held both in German and English. However, bilingualism is no prerequisite for admission.
"The sooner, the better." When it comes to learning a language, this statement is irrefutable. In preschool, children are at an age when their language is particularly susceptible to outside influences. This is why it is important for them not only to practice the second language but also to use it naturally to engage with the world. As a result, kindergarten will prove to be a varied and exciting time for both children and parents.
Our bilingual Kindergarten offers a well-supervised, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children aged four to six. SIS has developed its curriculum for children in this age group, comprising six areas of learning and discovery. Our Kindergarten is the ideal preparation for the transition into bilingual SIS Primary School.
At our bilingual Primary School, teaching is based on the cantonal curriculum. This state curriculum is supplemented by elements of international educational practice as well as by pedagogical standards developed by SIS. By attending our Primary School, children are ideally prepared for the transition into our Bilingual College at SIS Zürich. Students can transfer from and into the public school system at any time.
As a school, we are committed to doing everything we can to support children as they are growing up and to provide a valuable complement to their family life. This includes lunchtime meal offers, homework supervision, flexible drop-off and pick-up times, as well as exciting activities, even during school holidays.
SIS Swiss International School Zürich-Wollishofen is a day school. Including our optional before and after school care, the school day runs from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. It is important to us that students of all age groups feel happy and comfortable at our school, which is why we offer a range of services to cater to our students’ various needs.
Surrounded by our garden and a large nearby park area, and with views of the Landiwiese and Lake Zürich, our students live and learn at a central but green location.
In addition to well-equipped contemporary classrooms, we offer various special-purpose rooms such as a crafts room and a library. For sports and swimming lessons, we are allowed to use the buildings of the nearby public schools and swimming pool. Transport is provided by our school bus.
Our day school structure wouldn’t be complete without our cafeteria, which also serves as a venue for school events.
An adventure playground invites children to climb, play balancing games or use the slide. Students also enjoy themselves playing table tennis or soccer. Individual classes sometimes spend their lunch breaks at the Belvoirpark or on the beautiful Landiwiese, always accompanied by supervisors.
