The Islamic Educational College (IEC) is situated at the center of Amman in Jordan the Islamic Cultural Society, a charitable society registered with the Ministry of Social Development was established in 1947. IEC is a non-profit organization, whose educational and administrative policies are set by the school's Board of Trustees.
The school was founded to provide a bilingual Islamic education that would meet, in quality and extent, the highest standards, whilst remaining firmly rooted in the Arab Islamic heritage. Student enrolment is currently around 5329 students, administrative and teaching staff 926.
The Islamic Educational College is a school where Islamic moderate educational theory and practice are implemented and enthusiastically embraced. The Islamic Educational College is a private school, licensed by the Jordanian Ministry of Education. IEC prepares its students for the Tawjihi at its national stream and British program: IGCSE/GCE and the American Program AHSD as school-leaving qualifications.
As well as providing an academic education of high quality, the school attaches considerable importance to creative, physical, and community service activities, and offers a wide and developed range of facilities and opportunities in these areas.
IEC strives to remain one of the leading educational institutions in Jordan by serving the needs of the students and their parents with the finest resources and cutting-edge curricula delivered by qualified teachers within a well-established administrative system.
IEC develops the academic, physical, and social needs of its students in an open world. It is committed to raising balanced, highly-educated, and reflective life-long learners by providing an environment that promotes Islamic values and practices, whilst accepting and respecting others. Students are empowered to be proud of their heritage, language, and history, and are motivated by their sense of responsibility to embrace, benefit and excel as communicators and risk-takers.
Each day, new and promising dreams are born of work and giving and with each pause of self-examination, new thoughts emerge in the map of one’s life that later crystallize into reality - concrete and pulsating with all means of survival. Truly it is a turning point in a person's life, that moment in which one hones his energy and turns sincerely to God striving and working to fulfill the ideas and beliefs that have formed deep in his mind. It is a sincere striving that knows no anxiety or fear, and in the course of one's endeavor, he seeks to be guided by the courses of his virtuous predecessors to build an amazing tomorrow.
The Islamic Educational College is a modern educational model that employs what is most up-to-date in education. It seeks to blend technology in its full extent of development with its educational foundations. The School develops the student's thought and knowledge broadening his horizons and equipping him with the needed skill that will grant him the opportunity to rise in his life experiences to lofty heights and to master the ability to successfully communicate with others whether in his native Arabic language or English the most prevalent language in the world in addition to the ability to use modern technology with wisdom and awareness that guides him to make the best use of it.
We, at Islamic Educational College schools, seek to raise the level of learning by implementing several strategic projects which will have an important role in the excellence of performance. Such as, “Items Bank project”,” interactive online learning”, the ethics value system project that brings in the school effort in the student individual recognitions as a spiritual being whose character must be promoted in a manner that agrees with the Islamic educational college vision and mission. In addition, the Arabic language project “Arabic is my pride”. And our most important project is “memorization of the Holy Qur’an”.
This is another step our Schools have added to the series of confident steps that began six decades ago. A beam of the light of belief is extended without interruption from the beginning of each school year at the Islamic Educational College, to its end. By the light of this ray we walk and strive towards our goals vigorously and unwavering with the determination of a loyal staff which shouldered with determination the task of building generations, relying on profound heritage and scientific knowledge.
Today we stand in a position we have grown accustomed to each year, a position full of hope and optimism a position that is important for two reasons: The first being, that we conclude a year that has passed which we will evaluate objectively and without bias, in preparation for the opening of a new year that we will support and assist as we do each year.
The second being the celebration of the graduation of a new generation of high school students from our schools in both locations: Jabal Amman and Jubaiha. This generation both delights and heartens us as we see it go forth to an open future full of aspirations. We hope that we have instilled in our graduates a desire to strive and hasten in the field of creative ingenuity with optimism that stems from a spirit that derives its serenity and splendor from a great cultural legacy.
Each academic year, some faces disappear from the stage of education in our Schools, and new faces appear, but these changes will not affect our educational process or the achieving our noble goals.
Every year in each celebration or occasion we review the feedback and efforts to achieve the highest goals for the benefit of the future generation, and we open in front of this generation ways of development, progress, great hopes, and vision for the future to widen their perspective of structural civilized foundations through a group of existing and upcoming projects, for example, the establishment of a multi-purpose building in the elementary school (American program)in Jabal Amman as well as the establishment of the main library replacing the current one.
In Jubaiha we are working to establish a building for kindergarten and primary, in addition to the establishment of a building for foreign programs from grade one to grade eight, so that when we look ahead to the future, our schools will have become reprehensive for an open draw from the source of Arab-Islamic identity, and a model in instructive work of education, and a factor of national advancement, so when half of our schools are fully aware of the phenomenon of the unique importance of the role played by the confirmation of its presence in accordance to Arab and Islamic culture.
That is the new spirit that our school is living with to become one of the top educational institutions on the national level, and a very well known institution through ages and this educational scene will remain deep and rich, capable of development and flourish no matter how complicated life is and how deepened the difficulties are with the help of Allah Almighty.
