QSI International School of Brindisi is a private, non-profit institution that opened in September of 2005. It offers a high-quality education in the English language for preschool, elementary, and secondary students. The warm and welcoming school community makes it an ideal place to receive a quality education from QSI.
The school facilities are located in a building originally constructed as an Italian preschool. The school is located in the S. Elia section of Brindisi and is close to the main hospital, two new shopping centers, a Thursday open market, and a local park. Our facilities include a picnic area adjacent to the school and a small playground with swings, slides, a jungle gym, and a merry-go-round. We also have a small football pitch on each side of the building for use during activities, recess, and physical education.
QSI International School of Brindisi has served the local and expatriate communities of Puglia. QSI Brindisi was established to provide quality education in the English language for students between the ages of 3 and 18. Our goal is to offer an exceptional education in the context of a vibrant educational family. We offer a well-rounded curriculum, taught by certified teachers, and based on a Mastery Learning approach to education. Our students, whose families come to Italy for business, humanitarian missions, and government assignments, come from over 15 nationalities, making us a truly international community.
QSI Brindisi is an independent, coeducational program, offering rigorous classes from age 3 through secondary graduation. Our students are led by qualified teachers who care for them as individuals, and QSI holds full accreditation from the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. The school is governed by the Quality Schools International Board of Directors, as well as a local Advisory Board, who offer guidance to the school.
QSI Brindisi follows a model of education that measures success by the accomplishments and attitudes of our students. We believe that all of our students can succeed, that their successes encourage them to create habits that lead to more success, and that it is the schools' responsibility to provide the conditions for success. We also believe in teaching the whole child, working with parents to encourage students to adopt character skills that lead to success long after formal schooling has ended. These universally accepted "Success Orientations", known as "TRACKING" with the Brindisi wolves, of trustworthiness, responsibility, aesthetic appreciation, concern for others, kindness & politeness, independent endeavor, and group interaction are behavior traits we build and reinforce alongside academic lessons.
The success-oriented way of operating schools leads to optimum learning and too happy and motivated students. Using knowledge of educational research, these schools are student performance-based rather than 'time-based or 'calendar-based. Teachers and students in QSI schools use time as a resource to reach mastery of clearly defined objectives rather than using time as a boundary condition to determine when learning begins and ends. Students are given the time needed to achieve success. QSI teachers employ instructional practices of excellence. The measure of success in QSI education is how well the students learn. The motto “Success For All” remains an ultimate benefit to the wholesome environment and education of its students.
