“UWC makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.” The College is one of seventeen schools and Colleges that make up the UWC movement. This means when you join the College, you automatically become a member of a global movement that puts at its heart its mission in which “UWC makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.”
To be the Principal of this school is so immensely rewarding. The College is an extremely vibrant community consisting of just over 250 students, representing over 80 different nationalities. This means that students have the opportunity to live and study with students from a very wide range of cultural backgrounds. Our website and our Facebook page only give a flavor of the very special atmosphere here. All the students and the College teaching staff live on the campus of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong. This means that a very unique community develops based on students and staff. All students follow the IB Diploma curriculum.
A special feature of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong is the breadth and depth of activities that students undertake outside of the “taught” curriculum. In the afternoons and weekends, students are involved in over 90 different activities based around the themes of Creativity, Action, and Service. Students also participate in at least one activities week either in China or the rest of the world per year. Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong was established in 1992. We are situated on a large peninsula on the edge of Ma on Shan Country Park, in the New Territories. The campus was purpose-built with excellent classroom facilities including Wi-Fi access across campus.
The purpose-built residential campus in Wu Kai Sha stands next to the steep, tree-covered slopes of Ma On Shan (Horse Saddle Mountain), adjacent to Starfish Bay, and overlooks the waters of Tolo Harbour.
Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong (LPCUWC) is one of 17 colleges that share the value and philosophy of the UWC movement and the mission of UWC.
Sharing a firm commitment to diversity, LPCUWC is a boarding school that goes beyond being “international.” We are a vibrant community interwoven with more than 250 students from over 80 different nationalities, cultures, and various socio-economic backgrounds supported by scholarships. Living in a fully residential college, students get to learn from and with friends of different backgrounds in their shared living experiences.
