The International School of Nice (ISN) was founded in 1977 and was taken over by the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce in 1994. The school's excellent exam results and University placement records have made ISN an essential part of the educational infrastructure on the Cote d'Azur. ISN provides an Anglophone program for students aged 4 to 18 years (Pre-K to Grade 12), culminating in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB). The International School of Nice is an IB World School and is fully accredited by two international agencies - the European Council for International Schools (CIE), and the Middle States Association of the United States (MSA).
The International School of Nice is a clear reflection of the international community on the French Riviera with an enrolment of 42 nationalities including British, American, French, Russian, Scandinavian, Italian, German, and Dutch students. The average length of stay for students in six years, and more students are completing their entire primary and secondary education at the school. The teaching staff is composed mainly of British, American, and French teachers, and the Director is American/Italian.
ISN is recognized by the International Baccalaureate Organisation of Geneva and offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP) to grades Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5, and IB courses to grades 11 & 12. In grades 9 and 10, students prepare a selection of IGCSE examinations. The School is also a Certified Test Administration Site, and serves as a test center for the PSAT, SAT I & SAT II, SSAT, Advanced Placement, and ACT exams. The school year runs from September to June, and there are a large number of extra-curricular activities including sports tournaments with local schools, Model United Nations, Student Council, and Field Trips in France and abroad. We have a strong drama and music program and regularly perform plays, musical performances, and musicals, attracting audiences from all over the region.
Total enrolment is 360 students with 50 teachers and 6 administrators. The Faculty has an average of 15 years of teaching experience and an average length of stay of 10 years. The maximum class size is up to 22/23 students. IB classes are often much smaller depending on the options chosen. The School office is open Monday to Friday from 08.30 - 17.00 during school time and 09.00 - 17.00 during school holidays.
