Wilson Stuart is located in Perry Common, Erdington in the north of Birmingham. It caters to 173 pupils aged 2-25 years. Some pupils have additional difficulties including sensory impairment, learning difficulties, communication difficulties, or complex medical conditions.

At Wilson Stuart, we are determined that all our students make outstanding progress and succeed. We aim to support them all to do their very best, enjoy school, and develop important qualities such as respecting, understanding, and helping each other.

We have high expectations for our students and have created an environment in which each individual is supported and challenged to achieve their full potential, both inside and outside the classroom. Accordingly, we expect our students to be ready to learn, to work hard, and to take pride in their achievements. Wilson Stuart has developed a range of excellent facilities to support student learning. We also have an exciting and rich curriculum that provides all of our students the opportunity to experience and enjoy a wide range of activities.

We believe that working together pays dividends. We have a very active Parents Association and we offer a great deal of support to enable parents to support the education of their children. We have outstanding relationships with our local community, schools, and businesses, their partnerships providing great benefits to our school and students.

Our nursery accommodates up to 12 children. We have separate Primary and Secondary Departments. Our Sixth Form program offers a variety of academic and vocational qualifications. It helps prepare students for life post 19 by offering valuable extracurricular activities, work experiences and delivering key life skills as part of the overall curriculum. September 2013 saw us launch our vocational program for students aged 19-25, which has been developed in partnership with University College Birmingham.

Our Mission is to provide a groundbreaking learning environment with outstanding teaching, support, and pastoral care. We aim to empower all students to take their place in society with as much independence, resilience, perseverance, and self-awareness as they are capable of achieving.

• To empower pupils to establish their place within society with as much independence, confidence, self-esteem, and self-awareness as possible, irrespective of any disability, gender, cultural or linguistic differences.
• To provide a safe, welcoming, and effective learning environment for pupils and staff, where everybody respects the abilities, values, and beliefs of others.
• To provide a broad, balanced, and flexible curriculum, based upon the National Curriculum, responding to pupils’ individual needs and actively seeking the best possible education for each child.
• To encourage and develop an effective partnership between the school, our parents, other professionals, and the wider community.
• To support the development of an inclusive society by acting as a resource, and by promoting an understanding of the needs and capabilities of individuals with disabilities.
• To support the achievement of these aims by fostering the careers, knowledge, and skills of all staff through ongoing training and continuous professional development.
