Whitefield School's mission statement ‘Enjoyment, Achievement and Wellbeing for all’ and my priority is to ensure that it is a reality for every pupil. It is a pleasure to see, in lessons, assemblies, and other school events, how much the majority of our pupils like coming to school and relish the activities planned for them. Activities that are motivating provide the best route to progress.

To address enjoyment and achievement, we will continue to develop the curriculum and to offer a wide range of activities in music, arts, and sport through which children and young people can express themselves. Wellbeing is now a national priority, included in the School Improvement Plan. To support wellbeing, we will continue to build strong relationships with children so that they know that their voices are heard and to develop our expertise in helping those children and young people who are finding life or learning particularly difficult.

Alongside our aspirations for the pupils, the Senior Leadership Team and I are continuing to work to ensure that our amazing staff team has every opportunity to develop their skills and progress their careers through high-quality training within the Academy and in collaboration with universities and colleges. My third priority is to work with Elaine and the Directors to strengthen the Academy and to build partnerships within the education world, learning from others and sharing our expertise.

Whitefield has developed a bespoke personalized curriculum so that all pupils benefit from truly individualized learning concerning the National Curriculum. Teachers' planning ensures that pupils take part in activities that are meaningful and interesting for them and through which they address relevant and challenging learning outcomes. This enables all pupils to maximize their progress.

The curriculum is designed to help our pupils become:

• Successful learners who enjoy learning and make outstanding progress.
• Effective communicators who can express themselves, make choices, and build positive relationships with other people.
• Confident individuals who take a full part in activities within school and the community.
• Responsible citizens who behave well and make a positive contribution to the school and the wider world.
• Lifelong learners who leave school are equipped for the adult world whether in paid employment, education, or supported living.
