At Turnham Primary Foundation School we believe that every child who attends our school deserves the right to quality teaching and learning in an atmosphere that is safe and nurturing, inspiring and challenging, creative and innovative.
We want to still in our children positive attitudes to learning. We aspire to encourage and empower our children to be lifelong and independent learners children who are ambitious, inspirational role models who strive for academic success. Our curriculum will be underpinned by the concepts and skills identified in our Core Values and Principles expressed in 'Turnham Pride' and our commitment to becoming a Rights Respecting School.
At Turnham Primary Foundation school we are committed to enabling all children to access education successfully. This is an “inclusive” process part of this commitment is concerned with establishing a high standard of behavior throughout the school. How pupils and adults behave has a profound effect on all the work that is undertaken. Therefore, a well-thought-out approach to this aspect contributes directly to both the social and learning aspects of our school.
We are working to create an atmosphere where children can develop moral awareness and are sensitive to the needs of others and one in which they will show respect and consideration for other people and property.
We praise and reward positive attitudes to behavior and work hard to maintain fairness and consistency, whilst encouraging self-discipline. We recognize that high standards are best promoted when everyone (staff, parents, children, and governors) have a shared understanding of what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior. By promoting good behavior we can build individual and collective esteem and encourage good personal relationships.
