At Trinity Primary Academy we are committed to helping every child succeed, whatever their background or ability. We want to create a safe, stimulating, and supportive atmosphere where children can love life, learning, and play.

Trinity is a thriving Primary Academy situated in Wood Green, North London, close to the tube station. The building is Grade II listed Victorian and much of its original features remain. We admit children from Nursery through to Year 6 and currently have 2 forms of entry throughout the school.

Trinity Primary Academy is a key member of Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), the operational arm of the Greensward Charitable trust, which is a federation of academies created to provide thousands of students/pupils with the best possible education.

These characteristics are what we believe all children need to become the best they can be, achieving life-long success. As a whole academy community, we aim to demonstrate these values at all times.

Pupils are expected to follow the school and class rules at all times. Through the curriculum and weekly assemblies, children are taught the value and reasons behind rules and laws, how they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that these involve, and the consequences when rules are broken. Scheduled visits from authorities such as the police and fire service help reinforce this message.

Through the curriculum, we encourage pupils to express and listen to each other’s views for example, through PSHE discussions, debates in English, and topic lessons, and the use of talk partners. Our curriculum supports pupils to develop their self-esteem, self-belief, and self-confidence. We encourage pupils to express their individuality and creativity through challenging stereotypes.

At Trinity, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school, we educate and provide boundaries for pupils to make informed choices and teach children how to make the right choice, for example through PSHE discussions and weekly assemblies. Trinity has a strong anti-bullying culture and our pupils understand the importance of being a helpful bystander.

Mutual respect is one of Trinity's core values. Children learn that their behaviors affect their rights and those of others. All members of the school community are encouraged to treat each other with respect.

At Trinity Primary Academy we actively promote diversity, tolerance, and understanding, through our celebration of different faiths and cultures. Through the teaching of Religious Education and PSHE. We reinforce messages of tolerance and respect. Pupils teach each other about their cultures and faiths, for example, through presentations to other classes. Whole school assemblies include stories and celebrations from a variety of faiths and cultures.

This half term our topic is ‘All About Me’, which links to the Personal Social & Emotional & Communication & Language development and the children have been drawing and talking about their families. The children used mirrors to look at their reflection, talked about what they saw, the color of their eyes, hair, skin, and used paint to make their portraits. They are amazing! We have been discussing our feelings and what makes us happy and sad. The children have told us that coming to nursery makes them happy and that not having a friend to play with makes them sad. The children have also been enjoying Trinity’s very own Baby Clinic.

We have also been marking making in shaving foam, glitter, paint, and rice Krispies whilst having lots of fun. In Maths we have been singing number songs with actions and props, playing number recognition & matching games to develop our Mathematics skills. Outside in the playground, we played hopscotch using our gross motor and balancing skills.

In reception the children have been exploring the natural world around them, focusing on autumn. The children brought in their labeled autumn bags which were completed over the half term. We used these bags to talk about and compare the range of objects which can commonly be found outside in the autumn season. The children also used their autumn objects to explore transient art.
