We aim to provide the very best opportunity for our children. This is a learning community for its pupils and adults and is based upon the Christian values of love, tolerance, and forgiveness.
The school ensures children learn in a safe, caring, and enriching environment. Children are taught how to keep themselves safe, to discover positive and healthy relationships and how to avoid situations where they might be at risk including by being exploited.
At The Trinity Catholic Primary School, through the love of the Father and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we follow Jesus by showing love, respect, and forgiveness to everyone and everything, in all that we say and do.
The Trinity Catholic Primary School believes that all human beings are uniquely created by God. All pupils and adults are respected and accepted for who they are. We create an atmosphere permeated by the gospel values of love, peace, justice, tolerance, and forgiveness. Our faith perspective is embedded in every aspect of school life. The school delivers all statutory requirements and promotes links with the community and the wider world. Learning and teaching are at the heart of our school, which is inclusive and empowering. Our curriculum is designed to offer our children a broad and balanced curriculum, that promotes values necessary to live in our society today. We deliver the National Curriculum in a way that is appropriate to our city, our area, and our school a curriculum that offers rich opportunity and experience to set firm foundations to promote life-long learning.
Delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that engages, challenges, and supports the needs of all our pupils is central to our foundation subject curriculum at The Trinity. We aspire to inspire our children to reach their potential. At the Trinity Catholic Primary School, we believe that our children deserve the best-both academically and personally. Subjects covered in Key-Stage 1 (5-7) and Keystage 2 (7-11) are: RE, English, Maths, Science, Art and Design, Computing, Design and Technology, Geography, History, Music and P.E. Keystage 2 children also learn Spanish.
As with English, Maths, and Science, we teach skills and knowledge leading to independent application. Year-on-year, these are built upon ensuring progression through the school. Wherever possible, opportunities to apply English and Maths skills are planned into foundation subjects. Half-termly curriculum maps are sent to parents to ensure that skills taught in school can be reinforced at home.
R.E. is taught following the Archdiocese agreed on the syllabus "Come and See". This reinforces the values of our school and promotes the Catholicity of our mission statement. Throughout Key Stage 2, English and Maths are taught in groups, arranged by ability, within year groups.
