At The Holmewood School, we ensure our young people get every opportunity to achieve their full potential in life, irrespective of any difficulties. We aim to enable every young person to flourish by encouraging and building upon their unique strengths and interests. Students are supported to develop and deploy strategies that overcome and cope with their difficulties. We recognize that every student is different, and the individual hopes, dreams, and ambitions of each young person are our starting point. In addition to academic achievement, the focus at The Holmewood School is on developing the social, emotional, and personal skills of each student. This is supported by ensuring that we strengthen their independent living skills and teach them to advocate for themselves, which in turn leads to greater confidence and self-esteem.
At The Holmewood School, every student has access to a team of skilled teachers, therapists, and professionals who work together to ensure each has a learning program tailored to their specific needs.

Learning is real, meaningful, and useful for our students. Skills such as cooking, traveling, personal safety awareness, and budgeting link strongly with our citizenship and social skills curriculums and help students develop a connection to the world around them. Social thinking plays a vital role in the development of rounded and confident individuals and is considered to be as important as academic achievement. We focus on self-advocacy, self-esteem, relationships, and social interactions, which are essential skills for our students to lead happy and fulfilled lives.’
The Holmewood School, London welcomes students with a range of learning differences associated with high functioning autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. We are registered for up to 50 students with our Outstanding Sixth Form provision occupying its premises in Finchley Central. The vast majority of our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) which allows families to seek financial funding from their Local Authority. However, a statutory statement is not a requirement for admissions. Applications can be supported by independent assessment reports relevant to the individual. Our school does not discriminate between different social, cultural, ethnic, or religious backgrounds, but actively embraces and celebrates these differences.
