Mossbourne Parkside Academy is a happy, stimulating, and caring place and staff expect high standards of behavior and good manners throughout the school. Our teaching staff also recognize that each of our learners is unique. Teachers rigorously track children’s attendance, behavior for learning, and achievement to ensure that there is a focused climate for learning for every pupil in our care.
Children get one chance with their education and, at Mossbourne Parkside Academy, we want this to be the very best. There is a driving determination to ensure that every pupil in the school reaches their full potential. Our Academy is fortunate enough to be part of the Mossbourne Federation, which includes one of the country’s leading secondary Academies. It is my intention, and that of the leadership team, to create a beacon of primary education with a consistent and forward-thinking approach.
The whole Academy is incredibly passionate about ensuring that our pupils are nurtured in the belief and determination that all perceived ‘barriers’ to learning can be eliminated and that there are ‘no excuses. Every child is capable of achieving a high academic standard and, in turn, becoming the future upstanding members of our local community.

The Government announced that it is providing additional funding to improve the provision of physical education (P.E.) and sport in primary schools. This funding will be allocated to primary school Principals. The money must be used to improve the provision of P.E. and school sport.
P.E. and school sport play a very important part in the life of Mossbourne Parkside Academy. We believe that P.E. and school sport contribute to the holistic development of our children and, through participation, our children build and learn more about our key values such as respect, co-operation, and kindness for themselves and others. Our overall aim is to raise standards in P.E. and school sport, increasing the participation and opportunities offered to our children. We aim to provide higher quality lessons and improved learning for all.
The Pupil Premium is an allocation of additional funding given to schools to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement. The intended effect of this funding is to provide targeted support to help accelerate progress and raise attainment so that all children reach their full potential.
This is a successful Academy and your child plays their part in making it so. We aim for an environment that enables and encourages all members of the community to reach out for excellence. For our children to gain the greatest benefit from their education, it is vital that they attend regularly and your child should be at school, on time, every day the school is open unless the reason for the absence is unavoidable. It is very important therefore that you make sure that your child attends regularly and this Policy sets out how together we will achieve this.
At the heart of the work of every primary school class is a continuous cycle of planning, quality first teaching, and assessment which takes account of the wide range of abilities, aptitudes, and interests of the children.
The majority of children will learn and progress within these arrangements. Those children whose overall attainments and achievement in specific subjects fall significantly outside the expected range may have Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND).
Active Feet Active Minds (AFAM) provides Mossbourne Parkside Academy with sports provision and PE lessons for the children. We have a pupil-centered approach and ensure all pupils are progressing in their sporting activities in a fun and safe environment, along with assisting the pupils to reach their full potential in sport.
