Marymount International School London was founded in 1955 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM). Our Mission Statement and Objectives reflect the Mission Statement of the RSHM: “That all may have life”.

Inspired by the charism of the RSHM, we proudly stand as the first all-girls school in the UK to adopt the International Baccalaureate curriculum which promotes independent and creative thought among subjects.

Our girls love to learn and learn to love in an inclusive environment that challenges and supports them.

Girls here are empowered to build their confidence, spirituality, leadership skills, and sense of self. What we are teaching is as important as what we are teaching. Whether innovating in our STEAM Hub, debating in class, dancing on the stage, or learning a new world language, they are encouraged to sharpen their critical thinking skills, collaborate with others, and celebrate our diverse community of over 40 different nationalities. Securing top university placements beyond Marymount, our graduates are global citizens prepared to make a difference in the world.

Mission Statement Marymount International School London is an independent, Catholic, all-girls, IB world school that empowers young women to be “firm in the faith, vibrant in hope, rooted in love and one in service”. Marymount students question, challenge, and contribute meaningfully as intellectual and compassionate global citizens.

Vision Statement Marymount offers a strong academic program based on the International Baccalaureate curricula to meet the needs of its international student body, thus providing a unique environment of cultural exchange and understanding. Our School is dedicated to promoting and developing the dignity and integrity of each person in an atmosphere of justice, love, and respect in which students, faculty, staff, parents, and governors cooperate towards attaining our objectives.

Objectives The faculty and staff are committed to the following:

• To encourage each student to understand, live and bear witness to her faith and to deepen her love of and relationship with God.
• To help students to love each other, respect each other’s beliefs, develop qualities of forgiveness and a joyful sharing of life.
• To develop in each student a sense of personal integrity, inner reflection, and responsibility for her actions.
• To cultivate in each student an informed awareness and appreciation of all God’s creation.
• To stimulate students to think independently, critically, and without prejudice.
• To instill a lifelong love of learning and inculcate in students the qualities of scholarship, character, service, and leadership.
• To encourage in students a social consciousness and global awareness which elicit a sensitive and active response to justice and human need under the principles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
• To focus on the cultural and international diversity within the School as a forum for understanding and cooperation.
