We want every child to take charge of his or her learning. Pupils should ask searching questions, challenge assumptions and apply critical thinking in all their studies.
The College values scholarship – scholar groups exist for every year group supported by a tailored mentoring program – and we have a fine tradition of academic success.
All Year 9 pupils pursue a broad program of study that, for most, includes two languages and an Extension Work syllabus. This encourages pupils to think beyond narrowly-defined subjects and to develop their study skills, in preparation for the GCSE courses they’ll choose in Years 10 and 11.
The core subjects at this level are English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, and Science. The children can choose four additional GCSE courses and they all study PE, while also receiving career advice and pursuing a program of Personal, Social, and Health Education.

Our co-curricular activities include trips and a wide-ranging program of lectures – often delivered by outside speakers. Pupils can also take advantage of various leadership opportunities, such as the perfect system, peer mentoring, the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), the Model United Nations, and a range of sports teams.
After GCSEs, the vast majority of pupils progress from Framlingham College Senior School to Framlingham College Sixth Form.
