Bardstown is a residential special school registered as a children's home and maintained by the London Borough of Wandsworth for children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities who are on the autistic spectrum continuum.

Many of our children and young people have associated communication difficulties and emotional/behavioral challenges associated with their disabilities and medical problems.

We are a Unicef accredited Rights Respecting School. The School is situated on a large site in the seaside town of Broadstairs in East Kent. Our facilities include an amphitheater, library, swimming pool, parents flat, interactive soft play and sensory rooms, interactive bicycle track, pottery, all-weather football pitch, sensory garden, and extensive grounds and horticultural projects.

The Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) is an internationally recognized awarding body. It offers a wide range of curriculum programs for all abilities, mainly in the 11-25 age groups.

Bardstown is registered as an ASDAN center and is currently running the ASDAN Transition Challenge, Towards Independence, Work right, and Bronze/Silver Awards.

The Transition Challenge modules provide a framework of activities to develop and accredit independent living and personal skills. The Key Stage 4 curriculum embeds this learning alongside National Curriculum top-based learning. Children & young people can undertake activities with as much support as necessary this offers progression and a smooth transition into Key Stage 5 learning using Towards Independence. The Towards Independence Programme has modules encompassing PSHE, Careers, Citizenship, Key Skills, and work-related learning for young people in Key Stage 5.
