Bishop Childs Church in Wales Primary is a happy and caring Christian school, serving the community of St Mellons. We provide a warm and welcoming environment, where every member of our school family is truly cherished as a child of God. Our school is a fully inclusive place of learning. This Christian culture supports staff in ensuring that pupils develop the self-awareness and self-respect that enables them to enjoy learning and make the most of the rich experiences they are offered. The teachings of Jesus Christ are the school’s foundation. We are a community of reflective learners who are constantly looking for better ways of doing things.
At Bishop Childs Church in Wales Primary School, we ensure that children learn Christian values through the teachings and stories that Jesus told. These values underpin our everyday interactions, how the school is led and managed, and the school’s approach to behavior management. Children have opportunities to think about and apply Christian values through religious education lessons, collective worship, and as an integral part of our curriculum.
Religious Education and collective worship are at the heart of Bishop Childs Church in Wales Primary School. Christian values underpin the ethos of the school and we aim to reflect the Christian gospel in all we do. We aim to ensure that our pupils learn about a living faith that emphasizes the need to care and share. Since Bishop Childs is a Voluntary Aided school, Religious Education is taught by the Church in Wales syllabus. We endeavor to help our pupils to develop a sense of self-worth and personal responsibility which will enable them to take an active and responsible part in society. Children are introduced to other faiths.
