We endeavor to provide the best education for your child at our thriving Catholic School. Our holistic approach provides an educational foundation for life, ensuring that each child has the opportunity to grow in self-confidence, knowledge, and faith and achieve excellent success academically. Life at Bishop Challoner is a seamless journey from nursery through to the sixth form and the experiences gained will have a lasting value. This is a happy school where our pupils feel a sense of belonging and pride, show respect and have a love of learning and aim to be the best they can be. Our small class sizes enable the teachers to know their pupils well and to encourage each pupil to reach their full potential and achieve their aspirations.

The school became a company limited by guarantee and registered as a separate charity (having previously been part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark). The voting members of the company are the Trustees who are responsible for the oversight of the school. They are assisted by others who may attend meetings such as The Head Teacher, governors, a teacher representative, and others drawn from the school community. The Trustees have to uphold the constitution of the school and maintain its catholic nature. Two of the Trustees are appointed by the Archbishop of Southwark as representatives of the local Catholic Parishes- St Edmund's, Beckenham and St Joseph's, Bromley.

We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities which help to enrich the education of our children. Fencing has a long and distinguished tradition at Bishop Challoner School. The fencing club exists to allow pupils from age 7 upwards to take part in competitive fencing. Past and present pupils have achieved impressive results at the borough, county, and national levels. Several clubs are run for both juniors and seniors. Parents and pupils are informed of the choices at the start of the year in September.

At Bishop Challoner, we aim to allow every pupil to develop his or her powers of oral communication and dramatic and musical expression. Great confidence is gained through performing to an audience and pupils throughout the school are encouraged to take part in a variety of theatrical productions and concerts. Bishop Challoner places a great deal of importance on the sport. We believe that there needs to be a healthy balance struck between academic and sporting activities for a well-rounded education. We believe in healthy competition – so we compete against other schools in most of the team games. We also hold competitions in school – often based on the house system.

Bishop Challoner School is founded on Catholic principles but welcomes and respects all faiths. Through the partnership of family and staff, we foster the education of the whole person in preparation for adult life, within a positive and caring environment.
