Kazan National Research Technical University, named after A.N. Tupolev – KAI, offers various fields for technical development, design, and scientific research demanded in Russia and the whole world. Here at the university, we are successfully implementing large-scale projects in composite materials, laser technologies, industrial robots, new engine development, and the like. In this respect, we are cooperating with the largest Russian and overseas enterprises such as KAMAZ, IPG Photonics Corporation, Parallels, United Aircraft Corporation, Rostech, Russian Helicopters, etc. The quality of education, topicality of scientific research, strong teaching faculty and staff enabled us to obtain the status of national research university among 12 top winners in the Russian Ministry for Education and Science competition in 2009.

KNRTU-KAI sends its students for training to 76 overseas partner universities and admits students from 50 countries. We actively engage foreign teachers in a training and education process, generally realize “double-degree” programs with the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and the Bauman Moscow State Technical University (MSTU). We are incredibly proud of opening the German-Russian Institute for Advanced Technologies in 2014. The Institute was established jointly with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Technical University of Ilmenau, and Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Its graduates will be conferred two diplomas – KNRTU-KAI’s degree and German Partner University’s degree.

KNRTU-KAI, named after A.N. Tupolev, provides advanced training technologies and offers highly-competitive education with a strong base for conducting scientific research and making cutting-edge inventions. Outside of the formal activities, the students are involved in a sports and cultural life full of exciting events. To become the unique knowledge-based center with the most favorable environment for developing education, scientific research, and innovations, raising new generations of scientists, academics, and engineers capable of putting and keeping the Russian industry in a world market orbit. Today KNRTU-KAI, named after A.N. Tupolev, is one of the largest technical universities in Russia.

An educational process and scientific research are organized at KNRTU-KAI in a unique style. It represents an organic combination of fundamental university education and science with their applied focus. The research infrastructure is being actively developed. The training course on the Theory for Inventive Problem Solving is introduced into an educational process at KNRTU-KAI named after A.N. Tupolev. This is a scientific approach to creative activities that make it possible to extend the existing bounds in any area of expertise and achieve new results. The training is performed in compliance with CDIO-standards – a complicated approach to engineering education: a set of general principles for creating training programs, material and technical support, selecting, and training lecturers. KNRTU-KAI scientific research combines fundamental and applied research of professors and students. The range of overseas scientific contacts embraces European countries (Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland) and the CIS-countries – Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine. KNRTU-KAI professors and students participate in projects within the framework of Resolution No. 218 of April 9, 2010, “On state support measures for the development of cooperation between Higher Educational Institutions and organizations, implementing complex projects on creating high-tech production.” The facilities for performing scientific research include:
