Welcome to the Maitland Lutheran School Website. In the 50 years that our school has been running, it has developed a reputation for providing vibrant Christ-centered education in a safe and caring community where each member is valued and supported.
As parents, choosing the right school for our children is probably one of the most important decisions we will make on their behalf. Our staff welcomes the challenges and responsibility of working with you as parents to shape your children's lives spiritually, physically, emotionally, and academically. Our Mission Feed My Lambs. We are a Christ-centered school, nurturing the individual in a caring, family environment, committed to providing quality education for the community.
Maitland Lutheran School is part of an extended education history that began well over 100 years ago when the first Lutheran School was established at South Kilkerran in 1877. The land for the current site was purchased in 1964, with the school gaining its first registration in 1966.
Over time the school has grown from around 50 students to well over 200 due to its quality christ-centered education. The school has been transporting students from the Southern and Eastern Yorke Peninsula for 20 years. The current bus runs extending as far as Edithburgh, Yorketown and Minlaton and Curramulka, and Ardrossan.
A Middle School for Year 6 to 9 students was constructed in 2013 and a fully equipped tech studies center. Attention to community and Christian values have always been at the heart of the school and its development. It is a proud history that has made Maitland Lutheran School the school of choice on the Southern Yorke Peninsula.
