University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest (USAMV) is the oldest and largest institution of higher agronomic education in Romania, founded in 1852, where tradition and modernity successfully meet. Our university provides BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. education and scientific research activities to train top specialists whose competences meet the labor market demands in the fundamental fields of "Engineering Sciences" and "Biological and biomedical sciences."
USAMV offers students both the necessary adequate infrastructure for education and research, fully equipped laboratories and scientific research stations, and excellent opportunities for spending their free time in the university. Currently, the university consists of 7 faculties (Agriculture Horticulture Animal Sciences Veterinary Medicine Land Reclamation and Environmental Engineering Biotechnologies Management, Economic Engineering in Agriculture and Rural Development) and two branches (in Călărași and Slatina), comprising 12,000 enrolled students, and multidisciplinary research laboratories as well as a greenhouse, all designed to European standards, providing competitiveness both at national and international level.
USAMV belongs to the network of public higher education institutions recognized with the "High level of academic trust" award in 2010, which programs of study are accredited/authorized. Our university is located in Bucharest, the country's capital, in the south-east part of Romania. It is a multicampus university (Agronomie Herăstrău and Medicină Veterinară Cotroceni Campus), with many facilities ranging from experimental fields to student amenities (11 dormitories, canteens, a Sports Complex, a Student Cultural Center, a Counseling and Career Guidance Center, etc.).
University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest offers 30 BSc programs of study (23 full-time, four part-time, and three distance-learning) and 32 MSc programs of study (28 full-time and four part-time) taught in Romanian, English, and French. The fields of study covered by USAMV are Agronomy, Biology, Forestry, Horticulture, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Food Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geodetic Engineering, Biotechnologies, Applied Engineering Sciences, Engineering and Management, Engineering and Management in Agriculture and Rural Development.
